The Eclipse EQ1000 equalizer/crossover boosts and contours the signal from your in-dash receiver before sending it to the amplifier(s), reducing system noise and increasing dynamic range.
Six bands of equalization allow you to boost or cut specific frequencies (up to 12 dB) so you can fine tune system performance. Each band has a control which moves its center frequency up and down to target the portion of the music you wish to control (Band 1: 25-100 Hz (Parametric) Band 2: 250 Hz; Band 3: 600 Hz; Band 4: 1.5 kHz; Band 5: 4 kHz Band 6: 10 kHz).
You can attach your receivers preamp outputs to the Eq1000′s first set of inputs and hook up a second source (iPod, MP3 player, DVD Player etc.) to the second set of inputs – separate gain controls allow you to match the levels of both sources.
Other features include a left-to-right fader and subwoofer control. The EQ1000 features Parametric center frequency control (for subwoofer), Parametric “Q” Control (Width of the subwoofer frequency equalization band) and subwoofer level control. It also features an extra full range mono output. This attractive 1/2-DIN size equalizer can be installed in (or under) your dash.

as far as the quality of the sound, its as others say. its decent for the price. however, the amp cuts out when the music volume is too low which can be extremely annoying. its particularly bad for classical music and annoyed me so much just now that it inspired me to write this review. i’ve read on forums that others have experienced this same issue. i’d spend the extra and get a better stereo amp somewhere else.
Not everyone wants or needs a single feature-loaded surround receiver, which is where the AudioSource Amp One/A 160-watt stereo amplifier comes into play. A favorite of audiophiles everywhere, the device is built to deliver powerful music, pure and simple, with few gratuitous extra controls to get in the way. Listeners can use the Amp One/A as an independent stereo amp (80 watts x 2) when used with a preamp, or as an adjunct amp for a low-powered surround receiver with preamp outputs (it delivers 200 watts of mono power). Combine the Amp One/A with an additional monoblock amp and a preamp and listeners can powerfully drive two front left/right speakers or two rear speakers, further clarifying each channel to create dynamic, high-end sound.
