Hara Sport SPF 30 Good protection but could be easier to apply – D. Pereira –
I bought this sunscreen on Amazon after I saw it on EWG’s list of safest sunscreens. It seemed quite good at protecting me from the sun on my beach vacation and the only occasion I got mildly red on my back was when snorkeling for one hour at about 12 noon, which I guess would be expected even with the best sunscreens. The major disadvantage is the fact that it is not very easy to spread on your skin and it turns you whitish even with quite a lot of rubbing. It also has a mild olive oil scent (one of the components is olive oil). And it would sometimes separate into two phases, so you really should shake the tube before using. In comparison with other EWG-listed sunscreens, I found it slightly easier to apply than “Badger SPF30″, but for me the best I tried was “Alba Botanical SPF30″ (good protection and the easiest to apply).
Hara Body Care: Sport SPF30 hara sport sets the standard for all natural sun protection. This richly emollient lotion with a base of olive and jojoba oil, beeswax, cocoa and shea butter is absorbed quickly into your skin, nourishing and protecting it. Beeswax provides water resistance, cocoa butter moisturizes and protects from the wind and the sun, while shea butter, olive oil and jojoba oil provide essential nourishment for skin exposed to the elements.
20.3% zinc oxide blended with naturally sun-protectant emollients creates a powerful broad spectrum barrier on skin to deflect and scatter the sun’s rays. Because this mineral-based sunscreen is made from only natural ingredients and contains no stabilizers or preservatives, it may separate. Squeeze tube before applying.
