Well, you can listen to this full blast, which is Neil’s apparent preference, or you can listen to it at a barely audible volume, at which point it becomes ambient music. It’s great as a nap-time sound bed.

Of course, there are better albums that serve that purpose. But you should have this if you are a Neil Young completist.

Stokke Tripp Trapp Baby Set in Natural

Both my husband and I are just angry with ourselves that we bought this awful thing based of its cute looks and great description (all lies!). It’s a nightmare to put baby in and out, it’s a nightmare to adjust the harness and use it WITH the baby set, it’s a nightmare to remover the cushion every time it needs to be cleaned… What a horrible design! I really hope the chair itself is good. We’ll have to wait for a while to find this out as our son is too young to use it without the baby set.
Okay, I was hesitant to buy this for our Tripp Trapp, but as we wanted to use it with our then-5 month old, we didn’t have any choices as the old baby rail is discontinued and doesn’t fit with the new model Tripp Trapps anyway.

We took the plunge. I have no idea what all the problems described in other reviews are about, because this set works great for us. We have no problems putting our 7 1/2 month old into this chair and baby rail set. We don’t have any cushions installed because he makes a mess when he eats and would just get the cushions all dirty. But, we got a good deal and free cushions with the set so I just put them away for later. We don’t usually use the seat belt presently because he likes sitting in the chair and doesn’t try to escape. He just sits on top of the seat belt for now.

My son is about 27 inches tall and weighs at least 19 pounds. He’s a very long and lean little guy. He sits up very well on his own now, but even before he was sitting well without help, he could sit in the Tripp Trapp with the baby rail and eat at the dinner table with us. The rail doesn’t make him too far away from the table. In fact, I’m surprised at how far he can reach. We give him graham crackers to chew, and he can put them down on the table in front of him and pick them up as he likes.

We think he likes sitting here and eating so much better than when he had to sit on the floor in the bouncy seat to eat. Now, he’s entertained sitting at our level during dinner. Thanks to the baby set which we added to the Tripp Trapp, he can do this at an earlier age. I do have to say that there is a potential for food to drip down between him and the baby rail when he leans back, but we use the Baby Bjorn bibs which have a great tray for catching food drips. Awesome combination, so our son stays mostly clean now when he eats.

UPDATE: My son is now 11 months old, weighs 21 lbs and is 28 inches tall. He still fits in the chair with the baby rail just fine and seems like he has plenty of room to grow. The chair with the rail scoots up to our table very well so he can reach for foods we put on the table in front of him for him to feed himself. I love how he can be right by us as we all eat, and not off to the side with a tray on the front of his high chair blocking him from pulling up to the family table. The Stokke Tripp Trapp Chair is still in daily use as The Child’s homework desk chair. I wrote about our experience with this chair at Raising An Omnivorous Child on wordpress. Check out “A Seat At The Table” in the Dec 2009 archives.
This is a fantastic chair! Wish i had bought it earlier, instead of another plasticky highchair which didn’t last my son too long into toddlerhood.

With the Tripp Trapp, he is able to sit to just the right height at our dinner table. He had outgrown his highchair at around 2 yrs old and the poor thing was standing to eat his meals! When he got a little too tall to stand, he would kneel to eat his meals. Before I discovered Tripp Trapp, I could not find another high chair that could accommodate his size and the booster seats I have seen didn’t seem comfortable enough to be a long-term solution for home-use. Hence, when i saw how the Tripp Trapp could be adjusted to various heights, I didn’t hesitate for long to buy it despite the high price tag. I am really glad (up till this day!) of my decision. He’s coming to 5 years old now and still loves his chair. My only regret is not buying it sooner and maximising the use of the chair in his first 2 and a half years! Even the adults in my family enjoy sitting in this chair. It has great back support and elevates the sitter to a really comfortable position. A great investment considering how long it will last him – from his toddler years, right up to pre-school and even to when he’s a teenager!! I love sitting in it, and I’m in my 30s! I intend to buy another one for my 4 mth old and this time, i’ll buy it early to maximise my investment and make my money all the more worth it!!
