What motivates you and what does it take for you to find motivation? Are you doing what it takes to achieve personal success? When I was a child, my grandfather would tell me son you can do anything you want do in life, but first you must want to do it. I never understood what he meant by that until I joined the military. No two people are motivated in the same way and we are all driven by something or somebody. The key is to find out what it takes to motivate you. What is important too you and what makes you get up everyday and go into work? It should not just be because you need money to pay the bills. I have seen too many people in my life time that are just going through the motions everyday, and they can not find motivation to set goals and objectives for themselves. It is like that old saying if you do not stand for something then you will fall for everything. Sometimes in life when you are trying to find motivation, you must be a little selfish and think about yourself and the things you want out of life. I am not saying you should neglect the people in your life that are important to you. I am saying that in order to help them, you must first help yourself. You should be motivated enough each day to do something that makes your life better.

You ever have one of those mornings where you get up and it takes everything within you to find the strength to go into work. Do you work in a job that you are not motivated to perform, but you know you can not quit your job? I have never had a job that I did not like, because I found a way to make the job work for me. Finding motivation each day to go into work can be a challenge. I have worked with people that others just simple hated to be around, but I was able to find motivation to work with them. I was able to find motivation and I was able to help others around me find motivation to reach their goals and objectives in life. Some people are motivated by money and other may be motivated by power and acclaim. Whatever it is that motivate you it is important to find that source of motivation on a daily basis.

When I was in the military, I would start each day by saying I will not let anyone steal my joy today. By going into work with a positive attitude, I was able to handle the stress that came with the job. I did not walk around all day smiling, but I did have a sense of peace and calm about me. My motivation each day was to do something or learn something new. Each day should have a purpose and we should be motivated enough to reach or achieve that purpose. Without purpose and meaning to our lives, we are just robots going through the motions each day. Even the most mundane job can be exciting if you have the right amount of motivation to make it exciting.
