Gelangweilte, arrogante und stinkreiche Tussi trifft auf pfiffigen Normalo-Typen. Eine wirklich gut gelungene Liebeskomödie, die wirklich viel Charme und Witz mit sich bringt.

Die Abtastung ist nicht anamorph und das merkt man leider: Die Bildqualität entspricht nicht gerade dem üblichen Fox-Standard, denn sie ist von starkem Rauschen und merklichen Unschärfen geprägt. Auf der tonalen Seite wird gehobener Durchschnitt geboten. Garry Marshalls Film ist eine ganz süße Komödie, die die Korrumpierbarkeit des Menschen durch das Geld zum Thema hat und dabei spielfreudige Akteure in einer spritzigen Story zeigt. Beste Hollywoodunterhaltung.

FOX: Dean Proffitt, ein gutaussehender, allein erziehender Handwerker, wird von der Millionenerbin Joanna Stayton schmählich verachtet und erhält für eine Reparaturarbeit an ihrer Luxus-Yacht keinen Lohn. Als Joanna kurz darauf durch einen Yacht-Unfall ihr Gedächtnis verliert, rächt sich Dean Er macht die Edellady zu seinem Hausmädchen. Kurt Russell und Goldie Hawn, auch im wirklichen Leben ein Paar, sind die Stars dieser vergnüglichen Komödie aus dem Jahr 1987, die von Gary Marshall (Pretty Woman) in Szene gesetzt wurde. Erzählt wird die Geschichte einer herrischen Erbin (Goldie Hawn), die ihr Gedächtnis verliert, nachdem sie von ihrer Yacht ins Wasser gefallen ist. Sie wird von einem Handwerker (Kurt Russell) als dessen Frau ausgegeben. Russells Filmfigur bringt sie “heim” in sein unordentliches Haus und zu seinen ungebärdigen Kindern. Die Lacher sind vorprogrammiert, als die aristokratische Hawn versucht, sich anzupassen. Marshall liefert die Grundlage zu einer guten Komödie und die Hauptdarsteller sind sehr lustig (Russell sollte definitiv mehr Komödien machen!). Die Riege der Nebendarsteller besteht aus lauter bekannten Gesichtern, darunter Roddy McDowall, Edward Herrmann und Marshalls Favorit Hector Elizondo (Die Braut, die sich nicht traut) in einem Cameo-Auftritt. –Tom Keogh Overboard – Ein Goldfisch fällt ins Wasser

Baby Boom Keaton’s Best – Earl A. Myers, Jr. –
This classic is great on so many levels: The corporate world versus the bucolic life, the stressful anxiety to achieve versus the laid-back,reflective confidence geared to serving others, the drive that too much is not enough versus the satisfaction that the little things, both animate and inanimate, are the real stuff of life. Keaton is all over this film; she is funny, she is maddingly aggressive, she is tender, she is caustic, she is passionate, she is aloof, she is approachable, she makes you smile, she makes you cry. She runs the full range of emotions, but they are never forced and quite believable. If you think from this description that I’m a true fan of this movie, then you have hit the lottery. Writer/director Nancy Meyers hits on all cylinders as she has on almost every film with which she has been associated.She writes plots and characters that are so real that one has the feeling that he or she is listening and observing words and situations as they are actually occurring. The team of Keaton and Meyers make up the best team of female actor and director in Hollywood today. This film can never be overrated or can be only matched for its cleverness, comedy and poignancy.
KEATON,DIANE: J.C. Wiatt (Keaton) thinks she has it all together. Beautiful and talented, she’s on the road to certain success. So when an adorable baby girl comes into her life by way of a distant cousin’s will, it’s J.C. who breaks out in a rash! Juggling power lunches and powdered formula, she is soon forced off the fast track by a conniving colleague and a bigoted boss. But this lady won’t stay down for long. She’ll prove to the world that a woman can have it alland onher own terms too! The writing-directing team of Charles Shyer and Nancy Meyers (Father of the Bride) made this sweet satire about a high-powered yuppie executive (Diane Keaton) who unexpectedly becomes a mom and finds she can’t successfully integrate the role into her busy life. Typical of the Shyer-Meyers films prior to Myers taking the director’s reins on the wonderful Parent Trap, Baby Boom is a little wooden and more sentimental than genuine. But there are entertaining moments, for sure, and Keaton is a delight. –Tom Keogh
