–Fionn Meade

Important Facts About Breast Plastic Surgery And Breast Implants

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Breast augmentation is the most commonly performed cosmetic surgical procedure in the United States and therefore the most commonly performed breast plastic surgery. Today it’s important to be fully informed about all the risks and complications that you might encounter with breast plastic surgery. Of all the breast plastic surgery procedures performed in 2006 in the United States, 329,000 were for breast augmentations.

The first woman implanted with silicone implants was in 1962. There are two primary types of breast implants: saline-filled and silicone-gel-filled implants. It was predominantly silicone implants that were designed in the 1970s that were involved in the class-action lawsuits against Dow-Corning and many other manufacturers in the early 1990s.

There have been several types of breast implants developed other than the two most common, saline filled and silicone gel filled, including polypropylene string and soy oil, but these are not commonly used, if at all; leakage of oil into the body during a rupture would not be good. Dr. Thomas Cronin and Dr. Frank Gerow, two Houston, Texas, plastic surgeons, developed the first silicone breast prosthesis with the Dow Corning Corporation in back in 1961. For women with very little breast tissue, or for post-mastectomy reconstruction, plastic surgeons believe that silicone gel implants are the superior device; but in patients with more breast tissue, saline implants can look very similar to silicone gel implants.

Saline implant shells are made of silicone elastomer and the implants are filled with saline solution after the implant is placed in the body. One manufacturer did produce a model of pre-filled saline implants but has been reported to have had high failure rates following surgery.

When breast implants are removed that have been implanted for a long period of time, a mastopexy is often performed to tighten up the loose skin: this is additional surgery usually done at the same time and at an additional expense. It’s important to remember that breast implants don’t last a lifetime and at some time or other would need to be removed or removed permanently and replaced. Extracapsular silicone has the potential to migrate to other parts of the body, but most clinical complications have appeared to be limited to the breast and axillae as inflammatory nodules (granulomas) and enlarged lymph glands in the armpit area called axillary lymphadenopathy.

Studies of saline-filled breast implants approved by the FDA in May 2000 showed rupture and deflation rates of 3-5% at three years and 7-10% at five years for breast augmentation patients. One study reported that only 30% of ruptures in asymptomatic patients are accurately detected by experienced plastic surgeons, compared to 86% detected by MRI. Some studies have suggested that subjective and objective symptoms of women with breast implants may improve partially or entirely when their implants are removed.

Since the early 1990s, a number of independent reviewers have examined studies concerning links between silicone gel breast implants and systemic diseases; the consensus of these reviews is that there is no clear evidence of a causal link between the implantation of silicone breast implants in breast plastic surgery and systemic disease; it’s always wondered who is funding these studies and that should clearly be stated. Capsules of tightly-woven collagen fibers form as an immune response around a foreign body like breast implants, which tends to wall it off; capsular contracture happens when the capsule tightens and squeezes the implant.

The risk and treatment of extracapsular silicone gel is still controversial; plastic surgeons agree that it’s difficult to remove, but there is disagreement about the lasting health effects. Local complications that can occur with breast implants include post-operative bleeding, fluid collections, surgical site infection, breast pain, alterations in nipple sensation, interference with breast feeding, visible wrinkling, asymmetric appearance, wound dehiscence with potential implant exposure, thinning of the breast tissue, and disruption of the natural plane between the breasts.

Although the general international consensus is that silicone implants in breast plastic surgery has not been shown to cause systemic illness, one must keep in mind that many women have reported a connection to symptoms they are having and to their breast augmentation. Make sure to do plenty of research online and offline before you make a decision about any breast plastic surgery including breast augmentation. The surgical procedure for breast augmentation takes approximately one to two hours, but the lasting effects of breast plastic surgery, both good and bad, will be around for a few years.

Bloating, Indigestion, Acid Stomach and Irritable Bowel Syndrome All Have Too Much Vata And Pitta

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Abdominal bloating, when the abdomen distends and there may be intestinal or abdominal gas, is the cardinal sign of dysfunction of the agni, the digestive fire, and is usually caused by a vata imbalance. In Ayurveda we describe it as the first sign of an imbalance in the “gastrointestinal consciousness.” Bloating occurs when the gastrointestinal tract is unable to split food into the smallest particles and release the nourishing enzymes into the system. Also see Indigestion.

Follow the appropriate Daily Lifestyle Regimen for your dosha, paying particular attention to your diet and eating

Rocking and Rolling: Sit on the floor and pull both legs up to your chest; interlock your hands over your knees. Roll your body backward and forward, ten times in each direction, keeping your elbows close to your legs.

Eat a light diet of primarily vegetables and rice, or kicharee; the Ten-Day Ginger Treatment recommended. There are several yoga movements that release wind and gases from the body, including toe bending, ankle bending, ankle rotation, hand clenching, wrist bending, leg rotations, and the posture known as Rocking and Rolling.

FIVE-SENSES THERAPIES

” Taste: Emphasize sweet, sour, bitter, and salty foods, spices, and herbs. Consuming the summer churna with a little salt and lemon flakes is an easy way to get all these tastes in the appropriate proportions.

” Smell: Use warm, sweet, and sour essential-oil aromas,

such as rose, cloves, cinnamon, basil, and orange.

” Sight: Green and blue are recommended to relieve bloating.

” Hearing: Listen to the midmorning classical music.

” Touch: rub the belly clockwise with warm vata oil. Five minutes daily.

HERBAL REMEDIES

” Triphala treats the entire digestive tract. Take 1/2 teaspoon triphala mixed with 1/2 cup warm water every evening at bedtime. Buy Hingwastak Tablets at http://www.drhelenthomas.com. Take two before each meal until feel bloating relieved.

Achieve Success by Overcoming Your Self-Limiting Beliefs!

Believing in yourself is the most important quality that you can develop in order to accomplish anything that you truly desire in every area of your life and become more successful. You all have unlimited potential and each one of you have the capacity to accomplish great things and be successful in life. However, most of you achieve far less than what you are capable of because of your self-doubts and self-limiting beliefs.

Self-limiting beliefs are those things you believe about yourself that place boundaries on your aptitudes and skills. These beliefs may be conscious or unconscious. Examples of self-limiting beliefs are when you think that you are not good enough to do certain things, you are not intelligent enough to succeed in your exams, you are not as good as your friends or you do not deserve the good things in life. Most of these beliefs are not true, but they make you play small in life and prevent you from expressing the creative genius that resides within you.

Jamie Paolinetti rightly said “Limitations live only in our minds. But if we use our imaginations, our possibilities become limitless.” You can accomplish absolutely anything that you want in life if you make up your mind to. In fact, absolutely nothing is impossible and there are no limits to what you can be, do or have. What is really important is what you believe about yourself and whatever you believe with feeling becomes your reality. Tony Robbins once pointed out, “What we can or cannot do, what we consider possible or impossible, is rarely a function of our true capability. It is more likely a function of our beliefs about who we are.”

The good news is that you can eliminate your self-limiting beliefs by becoming aware of them, identifying them and challenging them by replacing them with more positive beliefs. You must intentionally reject any thoughts that are limiting you in any way and you must always remember that there is nothing you cannot be, do or have. There is no one who is better or more capable than you are. We are all born with unlimited potentials, unique talents and abilities and we all deserve the very best in life. Always follow the wise advice of Thomas Carlyle “Let each become all that he was created capable of being.”

Nothing in the world can stop you from becoming the great and successful person that you want to become as long as you are willing to persist long enough until you succeed. As Helen Keller said, we can do anything we want as long as we stick to it long enough. Once you are clear about the person you want to become you must develop new beliefs to become that person and you have to discipline yourself to act as if you were already that person. You will have to adopt new attitudes and qualities to become the successful person you want to become.

There are no limitations on your potential except for those that you believe you have. People who are successful have the firm belief and conviction that they can achieve anything that they truly desire. You too are a highly capable person and you equally deserve to be successful. From now on, see yourself as the best and most successful person you can be and do not accept any boundaries on your potential. Once you start believing in yourself and act in accordance with your new beliefs, you will open doors to unlimited possibilities and your future will be brighter than you ever imagined. As Mary Kay Ash said, “Do not limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe, remember, you can achieve.”

The Ottoman 2.0 relies on a total of 20 rollers that are positioned to massage the arches, heels, and balls of your feet.
