Are you excessively tall? Do you have long bones that aren’t proportionate to the rest of your body? Perhaps you have Marfan’s syndrome. Marfan’s syndrome (arachnodactyly) is a rare inherited disorder of connective tissue that causes defects in the eyes, skeleton and cardiovascular system. It affects both males and females and may occur any time from early infancy to adulthood.
The symptoms of Marfan’s syndrome develop gradually over the years. These include long slender bones which make a person excessively tall, long slender fingers and toes, heart defects and a partial dislocation of the lenses of the eyes.
“The most common signs of this disease are skeletal abnormalities particularly excessively long tubular bones and an arm span exceeding the patient’s height. Usually the patient is taller than average for his family, with the upper half of his body shorter than average and the lower half, longer,” according to Helen L. Davis of the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia in “Diseases.”
“His fingers are long and slender (spider fingers). Weakness of ligaments, tendons and joint capsules results in joints that are loose, hyperextensible, and habitually dislocated. Excessive growth of the rib bones give rise to chest deformities,” she added.
Other symptoms are pectus excavatum (funnel breast), frequent hernia and scoliosis (the sideways curvature of the spine). Death from Marfan’s syndrome is often due to cardiovascular complications.
In severe cases, the elastic fibers in the media (middle layer) of the aorta (the main artery of the body) may be damaged, leading to aneurysm (a ballonlike swelling).
There is no specific test for Marfan’s syndrome and the diagnosis is made mainly on its symptoms. Treatment is aimed at relieving symptoms and preventing complications. These include surgery to repair aneurysm, eye defects and spinal curvature, and hormone therapy to stop the patient from growing abnormally tall.

How Rock ‘N’ Roll Day Came About
This year to celebrate rock ‘n’ roll day, send out a few free e-cards to those friends who like this sort of music. Free e-cards are quickly taking over the card market.
Performer Alan Freed coined the term rock ‘n’ roll at an event he promoted as the Rock ‘N’ Roll Jubilee in 1954. Rock ‘n’ roll is characterized by a great variety of musicians and performers, each of whom focus on different, often contradictory aspects of music, but who nonetheless are classified within this versatile category.
The people who epitomize rock ‘n’ roll range from crooners of the country and folk traditions along the lines of Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly, innovators like Chuck Berry and Smokey Robinson, lyrical poets such as Bob Dylan and Roger Waters, to guitar legends like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Robert Plant.
The phenomenon, though it is difficult to define precisely, has been attributed to the enormous impact of jazz and blues on the growth of sound and the perception of music by the population of the United States. African American blues musicians pioneered the movement toward sound amplified by electronics and its integration into acoustic music.
Though those times may seem remote, there was a time when rock ‘n’ roll was not only deemed controversial, but downright obscene in certain circles and situations for that very reason. Revolutionary strides have been made in music before and since the birth of rock ‘n’ roll, but as Danny Rapp definitively chants with the Juniors, rock ‘n’ roll is here to stay.
Been a long time since you’ve revisited the Golden Age of Rock ‘n’ Roll? Pop into a record shop and browse the selections from the classic rock category in honor of this special day.
Set the dial to your local classic rock radio station and stay tuned today and every day to celebrate this broad and prolific musical genre, and the thousands of artists and performers who have contributed to its evolution and growth. Perhaps you used to dream of being a rock star?
Return to those ambitious and wild times by picking up a guitar, drum sticks, microphone or what have you and show off your talents for your friends and loved ones. To make this even more fun, dress up according to what you would have deemed appropriate when being a rock star was most important.
If you were part of a struggling band that called it quits, today could be the day to get together again, play some music, and dream about scheduling a reunion tour. Rock ‘n’ Roll day is the perfect occasion to let your hair down and groove to some of your all-time favorite tunes.
Interesting facts in the history of music relevant to the birth of rock ‘n’ roll:
In 1709, Bartolommeo Cristofori invented the piano, which is a system of hammers set to strike chords to produce sound as opposed to being plucked by hand.
Thomas Edison developed the phonograph in 1877. This is the first instrument to be invented that played back recorded sounds: the original amplifier.
When in 1929, Les Paul discovers that by placing the stylus (needle from a record player) underneath the strings of an acoustic guitar created a sound that can be amplified by transmitting it through a phonograph, the last element of rock ‘n’ roll, the electric guitar, fell into place.
Millions of free e-cards are sent out annually. Free e-cards are quick and easy to use, and most importantly are free.
Andrew Gibson is MD of Greeting-Cards.com. It has thousands of free ecards to choose from for birthdays and all occasions. Many people now send free e-cards to celebrate birthdays and select them from thousands of free e-cards

Headaches, Insomnia, Anxiety and Constipation Have the Same Root Cause According To Ayurveda
Headaches, insomnia, anxiety and constipation have the same root cause which is a vata imbalance according to ayurveda. Until recently modern Western medicine believed that health was simply the absence of disease. Illness was caused purely by something outside the body, the way a hammer hitting your toe causes pain-viruses caused colds, allergens caused allergies, stress caused anxiety, carcinogens caused cancer, and so on. The solution was to find the right pill and the disease would be cured.
But today we know that the seeds of illness are sown way before obvious symptoms appear. The absence of a readily diagnosable disease is no longer the definition of health-people want to feel good, not just “not bad.” The hammer-hitting-the-toe model of disease doesn’t explain the wide variation in people’s abilities to resist illness or recover from illness. When you encounter a cold virus, you have only one chance in eight of getting a cold. Seven out of eight times your mind-body is able to defend itself. Clearly the virus is only one small factor-the state of your general health is paramount.
By focusing on physical cause and effect Western medicine has looked at individual organs in isolation, as separate from one another and from the mind and spirit. By way of contrast ancient civilizations were intimately in touch with their nonphysical selves and had rich inner lives. They knew what modern science is just now starting to realize: The mind and body are so connected as to be indistinguishable from each other. In many ways modern science is only beginning to catch up with Ayurveda. In many ways modern science is only beginning to catch up with Ayurveda. For example research is discovering that certain people are constitutionally prediposed to certain illnesses, and proving that lifestyle practices and gentle herbal medicines can make a huge difference in our ability to resist disease, recover from illness, and extend our lives. That’s exactly what the ancient science of Ayurveda has been saying for thousands of years. Headaches, insomnia, anxiety and constipation have the same root cause which is a vata imbalance and this is an example of genetic predisposition according to body type.

Review: Hugh Rosen’s Silent Battlefields

Image : http://www.flickr.com
Author: Hugh Rosen
ISBN: 0595347738
Hugh Rosen has created an emotionally charged read with his debut novel Silent Battlefields. At the heart of the novel and the central peg on which Rosen hangs his carefully crafted novel is a narrative involving two families that are woven together in a provocative and complex exploration of the evilness of the holocaust, its lasting effects on its victims and perpetrators, and the morality pertaining to Nazi avengers.
The novel slips easily from one character’s consciousness to another, as Rosen fills us in on their stories with many strong moments and powerful scenes. We first are told about twelve year old Selig Kruger, who in 1939 is forced to join Hitler’s youth movement, prior to his eventual entry into the German army. It is in the youth movement where he is taught to recognize the supreme virtue of Nazi ideology. Once indoctrinated into this belief system, he finds no difficulty in following orders until one day as a German soldier he becomes part of a mission with two other comrades to search for and kill any Jews in hiding along with the family members who have helped them.
Upon entering a farm home of a pastor and his family in Haranburg, a village many miles from Warsaw, he discovers a couple hidden in the attic and when he opens a closet door he notices their young daughter. He puts his index finger to his lips in order to signal to the young girl to remain silent and he then closes the door. However, he marches the child’s parents down the stairs where they, along with the pastor and his family, are shot to death by one of the soldiers. Selig runs out of the house and while he is being pursued by his comrades he kills them. Eventually, Selig finds his way after the war to Philadelphia where he marries the daughter of a rich German industrialist, becomes an eminent surgeon and fathers a son, Thomas.
Eva, the little girl whose life was spared, discovers the horrendous death of her parents and the family that was hiding them. She manages to escape and is saved by a gentile man, who brings her home, even though his wife is appalled at taking in a Jewish girl to live with them. After the war Eva likewise finds her way to Philadelphia, where she marries Professor Nathan Eisenstadt, becomes a psychoanalyst and bears a son, Mathew.
A series of incredulous coincidences, perhaps a stretch to believe, bring Selig and Eva’s families together and their respective destinies become intertwined, leaving us with a riveting and compelling narrative.
Rosen can clearly write, as his characters are skillfully crafted, fraught with flaws and internal conflicts. His characterization of Selig and Eva is solid and deft and his storytelling is not only genuinely surprising at times but also insightful. Rosen effectively interprets the events he describes and delves beyond the surface of the various characters he has brought to the page.
When I interviewed Rosen and asked him “what do you hope readers will take away after reading Silent Battlefields?” His reply was: “I hope that reading Silent Battlefields will enlarge the reader’s perspective on the resolving of ethical dilemmas and the complexities of life’s realities. Perhaps she or he will also be confronted with some provocative thinking, raising such significant questions as: “What would I have done in that situation?” Did he succeed? The answer is a resounding yes and I look forward to reading more from Hugh Rosen.

Thoughts Become Things
So many people I know say they hate reading. What they seem not to get is that a book is an alternate universe, where you can go anywhere, or choose to just set the book down and leave that universe alone. -Zeke Willey
The steps to success are arranged in this chronological order:
Visualization ===> Thoughts ===> Action ===> Results
First, we visualize. Then, we summon up our talents, charm and virtues and act on our dreams. We become as powerful as the protagonists in our favorite stories and defeat the obstacles along the way. Finally, we live our dreams. In every step of the way, reading helps.
Making dreams come true: Stories can bring us to wonderlands that we have yet to imagine prior to reading a book. Through stories, our dreams are either created or expanded into our own reality.
Here are some characters we meet in fairytales:
1. Snow White represents the danger in being an object of envy.
2. Little Red Riding Hood is an ordinary girl who has great devotion to her grandmother and the big bad wolf is literally and figuratively a wolf dressed in sheep’s clothing.
3. The Ugly Duckling, before its swan hood stage had to cope with issues concerning rejection and poor self esteem.
4. Cinderella is the epitome of a person whose transformation from a dirty ash girl to a lovely bride happened because of hard work and charm-attributes which can help us succeed in life.
In both work and play, we meet our own versions of Snow Whites, Riding Hoods, big bad wolves and ugly ducklings. We have bosses and friends who can be as kind as the huntsman in Red Riding Hood or as cunning as the witch in Snow White. Cinderella inspires everyone -students, workers and even office managers to be as humble, hardworking and charming as Cinderella.
Aside from fairy tale characters, there are embellished heroes like Johnny Appleseed, Paul Bunyan; Davy Crockett and the seven Chinese brothers who solve problems in funny and exaggerated ways; the wily tricksters like Anansi who’s capable of outwitting the gods and lots of people whose brains are filled with noodles and do foolish things. We call them noodlehead characters.
In nonfiction reading, think about what we could learn from the biographies of successful people like Thomas Edison, Helen Keller, Bill Clinton, Beatrix Potter, Hans Christian Anderson and so many more.
Children are able to empathize with these characters in some way or another. Reading about the characters’ adventures and misadventures; their successes and follies and their vices and virtues can guide our children into undertaking the most appropriate actions and solving problems in the most intelligent way.
Reading also prepares our children to deal with all the types, shapes, sizes and characters of people they will be meeting in real life. It makes them realize the consequences of certain actions; magnifies the mistakes to avoid and guides them to the right directions.

Once I Was Blind, Now I Can See

Image : http://www.flickr.com
There are four kinds of blindness spoken of in the Bible. One is the physical blindness as in the case of the blind man whom Jesus healed and the disciples asked whether the man was born blind because of sin of the blind man or because of the sin of his parents. The second type of blindness is described in Deuteronomy 16:19 which says, “Thy shall take no gift as a gift blindeth the wise.” The idea is a warning against accepting gifts which will influence our minds to overlook faults of the giver. It deters correct judgment.
In mental blindness Second Corinthians 3:14, St. Paul says, “God of this world blinded their minds.” and again in verse 4:4 “He that hateth his brother is in darkness and darkness has blinded his eyes.” This indicates that hatred prevents us from seeing the good qualities of a person.
Spiritual blindness could be through ignorance or self-will. Jesus spoke of the Pharisees who complained that disciples ate bread without washing their hands and Jesus said about them, “Let them alone that they may be blind leaders and if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall in the ditch.” Mathew 15:14, Luke 6:39
We can be blind to our own mistakes and we can be blind to our own good.
We are blind to God’s abundant love, His blessings of health and material wealth for us.
What do you see in your room? I bet you don’t see everything, If we set up a TV and switch it on, we will see numerous colours and pictures. They were all in this room but we could not see them without the proper equipment. Similarly, to hear the music we have to have a radio to tune in. The sound and pictures are there but without the proper receptors, we cannot access them. Similarly, to see the goodness of God, we have to tune in.
Elisha was in the city of Dothan. The King of Samaria came with a huge army and surrounded the city. The servant of Elisha went out of the city walls and found the enemy encampment. He was sore afraid. He came in and told his master what he saw and told him that it was frightening to see the army around the walls.
Elisha’s reply was, “They that are with us are more than they that are with them.” The servant did not grasp the meaning for he could not see. Then Elisha prayed and God opened the servant’s eyes and he saw fiery chariots and horses surrounding them for protection against the forces of the King of Samaria.
God does not need fiery horses and chariots to protect His people for He can provide all the protection they need.
When Gideon was asked to go into battle against the Mideanites , he had 32,000 soldiers with him. God told Gideon that he should send away most of his people lest he thinks that it was the superior strength of his army that won the battle. So he asked his army that all who wanted to go back could go and half the force left. God told him again that still there were too many so He asked Gideon to lead them to the stream and ask them to drink water from the stream. Those who lapped as dogs do, God asked Gideon to take them to battle. Thus, he selected 100 instead of the 32,000 and won the battle.
When St. Thomas was running from the assassins, he entered a cave and within a few minutes the assassins came to the cave. They found a spider web covering the cave entrance so they fought among themselves that no one could have entered the cave without breaking the spider web. Thus God protected St. Thomas with the strength of a spider.
It is said that Robert Bruce was taught the most important lesson of his life by a spider. He watched the spider jump from one beam to the next six times and fail. He said to himself, will this spider teach me a lesson for I tried to take back my kingdom six times and failed. Will he attempt the seventh time to tell me that I should try the seventh time. He watched and found the spider win the seventh time So he went and collected an army and surprised the enemy and defeated them.
To find the goodness of God, we must have faith. When Claudius Ptolemy plotted the orbits of the planets on the basis of a geocentric universe with the orbits one within the other, Copernicus told him that God would not create such complicated celestial orbits. Thus he found the heliocentric planetary system.
Newton believed that God’s laws must be simple and made the greatest discoveries of all time.
Einstein similarly believed in the simplicity principles of God’s laws
Occam’s philosophic rule that the simple answer is the correct answer, encouraged many people to find the correct answer to their searches.
The story of Naaman (Second Kings 5:) Naaman asked Gehazi, the Prime Minister of Syria, to go and wash in the River Jordan to get rid of leprosy. But Ghazi said, “Are not the waters of Syria better than the waters of Jordan/” and he got annoyed and went away. But Naaman’s servant intervened and told him, “Master, if my master had told you to do some difficult undertaking, would you not have done that? Because his pronouncement was simple, you think it is not worth doing that. Irrespective of your conclusion, please do what my master told you.” He listened to the servant’s words and got rid of the leprosy.
Sometimes, sickness comes for reasons unknown to us. Jesus answered many questions about sicknesses whether the people contracted the sickness because of their sin or children contracted a sickness because of the sin of their parents. In John 9:1, we see Jesus telling them. “Neither has this man sinned, nor his parents.”
Adversities are not always calamities.
Paul had an ailment of the body and he prayed that it should be removed. The answer to his prayer was “My grace is sufficient unto you.”
In the film, The Robe, the paraplegic girl said “I am glad Jesus did not heal me for if he had healed, you would say that I praise him because he healed me. Now that I am not healed and when I praise him, you pay more attention to my words.
Jesus could have healed the blind man by a word. (John 9:7). He spat on the ground and made clay and anointed the eyes of the blind man and said to him, “Now go and wash in the pool of Siloam.” What is the lesson we learn from this? We too must act. Faith without action is dead. We must also have a vision to act.
About vision, there is the story of the real estate man who took his client to a vast desert-like meadow and asked him what he saw there. When the man said he sees a desert, the real estate man said that he can see a tower built by his client in the middle of the desert standing 30 stories high with his name blazoned across the building. The client believed in the possibility and made the real estate agent’s vision a fact. He built a tower.
The vision of Martin Luther King that the black and white in the U.S.A. will sit at the same table as equals and as brothers and sisters will one day become a reality has become so.
John the Apostle had a vision when he was in prison on the island Padmos. His was a vision of a new heaven and a new earth. It is a reality only to those who accept it as real. We have to believe and work on it to realize the effect of our belief.
We too can have a new Jerusalem and a new heaven and new earth. We too, can enjoy the wealth and abundance that God the good has in store for us but we have to become visionaries and believe what Jesus has said. We also need conviction.
Abraham Lincoln went to the grave of his girlfriend of his boyhood days, Anne Rutledge, who died shortly after their engagement. He dropped a stick saying that “if it falls on the grave, I will study law as you suggested and if it falls towards me, I will stay in the village and do agriculture.” Fortunately for him, it fell on her grave and he went for law.
Adversities are stepping stones to success. Helen Keller, the blind, deaf, mute, became the world famous exemplar of modern educational methods for the blind just because she lost her sight when she was two years old due to an illness.
Abraham Lincoln became the president because his son , Robert, failed to make the grade in Harvard.
Milton wrote Paradise Lost in prison. St. Paul wrote many of his epistles also in prison. Moses was hunger stricken, destitute and ready to give up the ghost when God called him to lead Israel.
Job was stricken of all his possession, his children, and even his health before he was blessed abundantly and all his losses replenished seven fold.
Abraham had to accept to sacrifice his son Isaac before God promised his blessings.
Joseph had to be sold as a slave if Jacob and his family were to survive the famine in Israel.
The end of man’s resources is the beginning of God’s opportunities.

Ayurveda – Remarkable Minerals

Image : http://www.flickr.com
Ayurveda Minerals are the movers of the bodies electricity and the electromagnetism forces in the body. The body needs minerals coming in a continuous stream to charge the body . As soon as you swallow food it begins to get broken down into molecules and compounds which are then able to pass through the small intestines and irrigated into the bloodstream.
Osmosis is the termed used to define the movement of homologus (chemical composition of digested food) from inside the digestive tube to outside the tube. The stream of food chemicals can only take place if there is proper MINERALS available.
Lack of mineral absorption can lead to decline in mental and physical health. The first sign being exhaustion and fatigue. The small intestines is the organ is of assimilation. Every cell of the small intestines need minerals to perform osmosis. THe mineral is extracted from the food it exerts a pressure. This varies with the mineral involved. A lack of minerals leads to imbalance in this delicate operation in the bowels. Minerals are converted to organic salts and when these organic salts dissolve in the body fluids. These body fluids are water and blood.
The organic salts break up to become ions. Ions get dissolved and are the magnetic property of electricity. There are positive and negative ions. Minerals are a sophisticated but simply put they are the electricity transfer mechanism in the nervous system. Without them you have no get and go. Minerals are a key player in maintaining balance in acid base ratio. Every food burns down to either acid ash or alkaline ash.
The pituitary gland is the organ in the brain that regulates the balance between acid and base. Minerals are the link that helps the pituitary balance the acid and the base.
Blood is the carrier of nutrients and nourishment. Blood is the stream of body fluid that carries all vitamin, and minerals to every organ in the body. The mineral iron is required to carry oxygen to all parts of the body in the form of hemoglobin. Minerals taken in the form of liquid are a simple quick charge for the body.
Apples, almonds, apricots, bananas, coconut, grapes, lemons, pineapples, raisins, raspberries, pears, are alkaline foods and help minerals to do their nerve transfer work. Excess salt, coffee, white sugar, white flour interfere with mineral activity in a healthy person.
Acid minerals are iodine, phosphorous, sulfur, silicon, chlorine and as essential as alkaline minerals. Alkaline minerals are potassium, manganese, iron, sodium calcium iodine, phosphorous, silicon, chlorine and as essential as alkaline minerals. Alkaline minerals are potassium, manganese, iron, sodium calcium. We need to eat 70% alkaline and 30 % acid food.
Time is the most precious commodity we own today. There are so many incredible ways we can interact with life and having a body that is nourished with minerals is the greatest time giver there is. Without minerals you slow down to a gradual crawl without even understanding that little by little you have been losing your charge.

What to Look For in an Eye Cream For Wrinkles

Image : http://www.flickr.com
If you are anything like me, you would also realize the importance of our eyes in our appearance. Eyes with a tired, wrinkled skin around them do nothing to make us look good. This is where a good eye cream for wrinkles can help us.
It is, however, not that easy to find an effective eye cream for wrinkles. Most of the products out there in the market are ineffective at best and even downright harmful in many cases. If you pick up any common wrinkle cream and check its ingredients, you will most likely find Collagen listed there.
While it’s a known fact that more Collagen is what our skin needs to be firm and wrinkle free, this is not the right way to go about it. Fact is – Collagen molecules are too big in size to be able to pass through our skin. That’s why most of the Collagen in these creams is left outside unused when you apply the cream, and so the cream also doesn’t show any results.
Most common skin creams contain chemical ingredients like Parabens and Mineral oil which actually damage the skin and leach away its natural moisture content, leaving it prone to damage. They can also lead to deadly health problems like Cancer in the long run.
Since the skin around the eyes is thinner than the rest of the face and is more sensitive, you need to be especially careful about what you are applying there.
You need to look for creams with natural ingredients which do not harm the skin and are safe to use.
Ingredients such as Cynergy TK(TM). This natural extract derived from New Zealand sheep’s wool has been proven to stimulate the Collagen and Elastin production in the body. This allows the skin to get 100% pure proteins easily and helps in removing the lines and wrinkles from it.
Homeo Age(TM) is a special natural ingredient derived from brown algae. It nourishes the skin with many vitamins and minerals and keeps it healthy, and is also effective at reducing wrinkles from the skin.
Eyeliss(TM) is a unique peptide that helps in another common skin problem around the eyes – puffiness and bags under the eyes, and is must have in an eye cream for wrinkles. This peptide improves the drainage in the skin to get rid of the accumulated fluids, strengthens the capillaries in the skin so that they do not break easily and also increases the elasticity and firmness in the skin.
In conclusion, a natural eye cream for wrinkles is the best option for keeping your skin firm and smooth without the risk of any side effects. Visit my website now to find out about one such effective natural cream.
Frank Langella is a dedicated researcher of skin care health and products. Visit his website http://www.totalskinsolution.com today and find out how to turn back the clock for your skin and keep it looking young, healthy and wrinkle free using all natural ingredients.

These daily observations are the very details of your disorder in the eyes of ayurveda. Ayurveda uses this body info, just as a few of the tools of ayurveda.
Easy to follow. One can follow the ayurvedic logic back to health.
You do not have to trust it, the results speak for itself.
Ayurveda Body Type Survey provides a modern person a blueprint to understand the nuts and bolts about their sacred vehicle.
The survey is an excellent tool to focus the person back to themselves without preconceived ideas of who they wish they were.
The survey works to deliver that message. It actually happens in the taking of the survey.
As you answer questions without thinking and just describing yourself naturally.
A special thing happens. You are focusing on yourself without judgment.
Self-knowledge is the reward. Seeing yourself with strengths and parts that need your love and nourishment to balance is life transforming. Body Type Survey is a gift from the ancient Sumerians to us. Talk about timelessness.
The same way a good doctor would exam a patient, you examine you
The survey that the ancient physician created was thorough and answered to the doctor,
in the case of the individual body type seeker, you are the doctor. For the next article I wll give you a tip for homework: Remember One Important Fact in Ayurved Science. Vata leads The doshas.

People on Purpose
“Many people have a wrong idea of what constitutes true happiness. It is not attained through self-gratification, but through fidelity to a worthy purpose.” ~ Helen Keller
Purpose
Do you know this person? He rises without hitting the snooze button. She works without complaining. He works longer and harder than anyone else. He always delivers on time. She gets there before anyone else. He cares little about the opinions of others. She consistently raises his own standards and expectations. He is not cowered or frightened by his circumstances – he is in control of his environment and his mind. If you know such a person, they are living on purpose. They have a Magnificent Obsession.
Paulo Coelho said, “But there is suffering in life, and there are defeats. No one can avoid them. But it’s better to lose some of the battles in the struggles for your dreams than to be defeated without ever knowing what you’re fighting for.” People with a very specific and definite purpose are not easily phased or thrown off course. They are utterly reliable and focused. They do not make excuses. Their lives are meaningful. They know who they are and they don’t need anyone else’s permission, endorsement or acknowledgement – only their own.
Thomas Paine said, “The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly; it is dearness only that gives everything its value. I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress and grow brave by reflection. ‘Tis the business of little minds to shrink; but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death.” He knew whereof he spoke. Purpose driven people pay the price of success gladly. They are warriors.
Unstoppable people are Eagles – they have goals and objectives and they are self reliant. They concur with Ayn Rand’s definition of Freedom: “To ask for nothing, to expect nothing, to depend on nothing.” And Freedom is usually their highest value. They enjoy strong self esteem and confidently pioneer new frontiers, never doubting their own ability. They don’t know how to turn tail, quit or compromise. It’s foreign to them. Eagles expect to win.
Someone with a purpose will know unprecedented peace, power and profit when they discover their own Magnificent Obsession and give themselves permission to win at all costs. They are strengthened by detours, obstructions and the mindless, seething masses. They see beyond the ordinary. They rise majestically above the quicksand of Collectivism and compromise.
Do you see this person in the mirror every morning? You can, you know.
