The perfect name for the perfect coffee maker. The word “keurig” is derived from the Dutch word for excellence, and it is what the The Keurig Coffee Maker Company promises its customers. The craftsmanship is impeccable and the selection of hot beverages is enormous. What a perfect compliment to any home or office countertop.
Keurig offers three models of coffee makers each for the home and office, with a seventh “hybrid” model for either location. So the dilemma is which Keurig Coffee Maker to choose, which one should you pick? For the home models, it all depends on your budget and the specific features you desire. The introductory Elite B40 is undoubtedly the best home Keurig coffee makers for those with a budget. It only costs $99.95 and comes with two brew sizes (9.25oz&7.25oz), a removable 48oz. water reservoir, removable dip tray, free 18 K-Cup variety pack of coffee (we will discuss more about the patented K-Cups later), and free shipping.
The next two home models (The Special Edition B60&Platinum B70) are priced at $149.95 and $199.95 respectively, and come with the same features as the B40. Added features include three brew sizes, a programmable LCD message center (both B60&B70), and chrome accents(both B60&B70) for the B60, and four brew sizes and an increased removable 60oz water reservoir for the B70. What I have, and what I recommend is the SE B60, but then again I’m just a middle of the road guy. Let’s not forget all these coffee makers can also be used to brew tea, hot cocoa, or just plain hot water for foods like oatmeal.. It is extremely simple to use, and brews all exceptional hot beverages in under a minute.
The “hybrid” B100 brewer is approved for both home and office and comes with a price tag of $249.95. With the B100 you lose the added LCD and chrome features of the B60 and B70, and replace them with a Water Level Indicator and 64oz. water reservoir This is fine for a small office, however, I would rather pay less for a B60 and keep the sleeker chrome look, and programmable LCD message center. The three specific office models are the B140, B200, and B3000, and all respectively correlate with a small, medium, and large size office. The B140, for small offices resembles the features of the higher end home models. Plummable option is available for the B200, and the B3000 can only be used plumbed. Both the B200 and B2003 are vending compatible and can be charged at increments of 5 cents to it’s users. In choosing the office model, go by the number of employees. One to 10 employees is ideal for the B140, 10 to 30 for the B200, and over 30 employee I suggest the B3000.
I mentioned above the patented K-cup technology that is the main feature of this Keurig coffee maker. What is a K-cup? Well, it’s a sealed mini cup slightly larger than the milk&cream cups often seen in coffee houses and restaurants. The individual K-cup is placed in the Keurig Coffee Maker where it is pierced to release it’s desired taste. There are over 190 different varieties of K-cups from popular purveyors like Dierdrich, Emeril’s, Green Mountain, Bellachino, Newman’s Own, Van Houtte, Caribou Coffee, and many others. In Keurig‘s own words its coffee maker and patented K-cups ” let people brew a perfect cup of gourmet coffee in less than a minute without the hassle of grinding beans, measuring coffee, handling filters or cleaning up. Keurig takes away all the guesswork from brewing a consistently great cup of coffee.you will get a fresh and flavorful cup of coffee any time.” What an excellent coffee maker Keurig has created offering different types of coffee, tea, and cocoa to all the members of ones family, friends, and even your co-workers.
One more thing, may I suggest you take care of your keurig like you would your expensive car. The Keurig Coffee Maker come with a one year warranty. However, follow their explicit, yet easy instructions and keep the heating elements and the water reservoir clean. This will definitely extend the life of beloved coffee maker.

6 Reasons Why You Should Consider the Keurig B70 Coffee Maker For Your Next Coffee Machine

Image : http://www.flickr.com
Coffee machines such as the Keurig B70 coffee maker come in many varieties including espresso, vacuum, automatic and last but not least pod systems. All have their advantages and disadvantages when it comes to coffee flavor, ease of use and affordability. However the B70 including most Keurig lines have distinct advantages.
K-Cups are exclusive pods used only by Keurig coffee makers. They are pre-packaged airtight single serves of various coffees, tea and hot chocolate with a filter placed inside of the pod. All you have to do is place the K-Cup into the machine and with a click of a button, the exact amount of water is drawn from the 60 ounce reservoir to deliver smooth tasting coffee.
The benefit is that there is no mess (apart from disposing of the K-cup) and without the use of beans to grind, grounds to measure or wet filters to use, there is little to clean apart from your coffee mug.
Another advantage is that you can enjoy multiple brew sizes. For a stronger coffee you can choose the smallest coffee size but if you are looking for a mellow tasting coffee, the largest size is what you’ll be after.
It is virtually impossible to create a bad tasting coffee using the K-Cups. The fast brewing machine can produce the coffee in one to two minutes, which means no more waiting.
K-Cups may be a bit more expensive that the traditional beans, but you can’t put a price on great tasting coffee and it is still cheaper than buying a coffee from a cafe every day.
With some coffee machines using carafes, the whole pot of coffee may not be drunk and the leftovers thrown out which is a waste of the coffee used and becomes costly over time. With the Keurig K-Cup system only one cup of coffee is made which is cost effective as it is guaranteed to be enjoyed.
Anyone who knows anything about making their own coffee will understand that it can be a messy and time consuming experience, however the Keurig brand of coffee machines eliminates these concerns. As you have probably noticed, home coffee machines are becoming increasingly popular sellers and Keurig are one of the leading brands in the sector.
They have earned high accolades for the quality of the coffee that they produce as well as the reliability and ease of use. The patented K-Cup technology has revolutionized the way coffee is brewed and made it economical to brew coffee in your home.

Extremely Quiet and One of the Best Vacuums For Hardwood Floors – The Electrolux Harmony

Image : http://www.flickr.com
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, Electrolux has some of the best vacuum cleaners in retail. The Electrolux brand consistently receives good reviews for their vacuum cleaners and the Electrolux Harmony Canister Vacuum is no different. It’s quiet nature, superb filtration, excellent cleaning ability makes this one of the best vacuum cleaners available.
This high rated vacuum is considered one of the more quiet vacuum cleaners on the market. The quiet nature of this vacuum cleaner is attributed to its insulated motor and an air system that reduces noise that you will typically get when vacuums exhaust air.
The relatively low level of noise that emits from the vacuum is great for anyone searching for more quiet vacuums and don’t want to disturb others, or have small babies that you don’t want to wake!
The vacuum captures more than 99 percent of airborne allergens and particles thanks to its top of the line HEPA filter, the H12. This makes the Electrolux Harmony another great vacuum that will serve any allergy sufferer well. If you’re looking for one of the best HEPA vacuums available, then you won’t go wrong here.
Pet owners will love this vacuum as it is wonderful for removing pet hair on both low carpets and hardwood floors. However, a downfall of the Electrolux Harmony is its inability to perform well on high carpets making the job a little more difficult.
The Electrolux Harmony is also fully featured and comes equipped with various cleaning tools for different cleaning requirements. You can also adjust your vacuuming power depending if you’re faced with a heavy duty job or if you need less cleaning power for light cleaning. It also doesn’t take up a lot of floor space and makes storing effortless.
Cost is a little on the high end, coming in a little under $300.
If having a high quality vacuum that is great on hardwood floors, is quiet, and utilizes one of the best Hepa filters then the Electrolux Harmoney is a pretty good choice. Just remember that it doesn’t perform as well on high carpets and you won’t be disappointed.
o Ultra-quiet operation-so quiet you can clean while others are sleeping
o Designed for convenience-clean difficult areas with telescopic wand
o Adjust for different surfaces with motor speed control and turbo nozzle
o Attachment parking device provides stability for compact storage

Keurig B60 is For People That Go For Pretty Machines

Image : http://www.flickr.com
Personally, I would not buy the keurig b60 because as highlighted in another article, the b40 is more than sufficient for me.
This is, of course a personal opinion, and the more expensive b60 does have a few variables that would appeal to some specific consumers. Most of us that purchase the single serve coffee maker, would want to have our coffee as easily as possible. So, we would only want to press one button.
But, there is a group of consumers that would love to have some control over their beverages and this b60 is the coffee brewer that would allow them to adjust their temperature, usually to a higher temperature.
Other than the temperature adjustment, the next feature which would be welcomed by some consumer is the ability to brew a 9.5 ounce coffee straight into a travel coffee mug. I know of some folks that absolutely must have their coffee with them as they travel to work.
But, you would noticed in my header that I did not put either of these value add, instead I say that this keurig b60 is for those that are looking for a good looking machine. This is because if I would to purchase this machine, it would be due to this factor.
Not many reviews or ratings site would pay much attention to this “look and feel” factor, but I can share with you that more and more consumers are making decisions based on this.
It is not difficult to understand that after spending thousands over dollars on renovating their house, consumers would want a coffee brewer that would add nice touches to their overall theme.
With its chrome k-cup jaws and the blue light that would lit up the water tank, the b60 is a good looking machine and it would fit the criteria of consumers looking for a handsome machine to match their kitchen theme.
The chrome finishing and the blue radiating light allow this coffee brewer to fit into almost any type of kitchen theme and make it the center of attraction. The last thing you want is when you get a new coffee machine, and no one notices it right?
You can rest assured that that would not happened with the b60 with its sleek exterior.

Headphones – Noise Canceling

Image : http://www.flickr.com
Given that one of the major complaints made to local government councils is from people asking if they can do anything to stop the noise of the dawn chorus that birds make in the morning, it is clear that there is a need in the community for noise canceling headphones. It is not only the twittering of birds, but early morning lawn mowing, backfiring vehicles and air compression brakes on trucks that spoil you peaceful repose. We are in fact so accustomed to screening out high levels of background noise that those that do impinge on us are usually at quite a high level. Anyone who lives in an urban environment would probably be shocked by the silence of the suburbs – and those who live in the suburbs would probably be shocked by the silence of a desert.
While we are very adapted to life in a noisy environment, there is no doubt that constant screening out of intrusive sound is wearing and consumes much energy. The use of noise stopping headphones can give you a break for a while, and cushion the impact of noise.
Rather than using ear plugs, if you just want some time out – you need to be looking at getting some active noise cancelling headphones.
As with most things, you pay for what you get, but with a price range between $60-$600 you can probably look at the market and find adequate noise canceling headphones at a price you can afford.
Top of the range models are expensive so you should consider carefully what level of background music you want, and what level of ambient noise and interference you need to overcome and make your product choice accordingly.
Most noise cancelling headphones are reliable only when dealing with recurrent background noise – so if you only want to take a nap when everyone else is generally busy, a noise canceling headphone is probably enough and will give you the results that you need. If you need to escape from more intensive and irregular noise – then you may consider a passive system which blocks out all ambient noise – the upside of this being that if you need a passive noise isolation product – then on average the price is lower than for integrated noise canceling systems. Systems which enable freedom from high levels of random noise are not background noise canceling headphones but noise isolating units.

What is Cafe 2.0?

Image : http://www.flickr.com
Have you ever wondered what CAFÉ 2.0 is? Lets start with what is Café 1.0. The coffee plant was eventually brought to the Americas in the early 16th Century, where cultivation became widespread. The first coffee shop opened in Italy sometime during the 16th century. America was ahead of the curve here, having enjoyed the brew; it was Captain John Smith, who helped to found the colony of Virginia, brought it with him to Jamestown in the early 1600′s. America was mostly a tea-drinking country until the Boston Tea Party (which was planned in a coffee house named the Green Dragon), after which many in the colony turned away from the quintessential British leaves and embraced the bean instead.
One possible origin of both the beverage and the name is the Kingdom of Kaffa in Ethiopia, where the coffee plant originated (its name there is bunn or bunna).
The introduction of coffee to the Americas is attributed to France through its colonization of many parts of the continent starting with the Martinique and the colonies of the West Indies where the first French coffee plantations were founded. The first coffee plantation in Brazil occurred in the early 1700′s, when Lt. Col. Francisco de Melo Palheta smuggled seeds from French Guiana. By the 1800s, Brazil’s harvests would turn coffee from an elite indulgence to a drink for the masses. Brazil, which like most other countries cultivates coffee as a commercial commodity, relied heavily on slave labor from Africa for the viability of the plantations until the abolition of slavery in 1888. The success of coffee in 17th-century Europe was paralleled with the spread of the habit of tobacco smoking all over the continent during the course of the Thirty Years’ War (circa 1618.).
For many decades in the 19th and early 20th centuries, Brazil was the biggest producer of coffee and a virtual monopolist in the trade. However, a policy of maintaining high prices soon opened opportunities to other nations, such as Colombia, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Indonesia and Vietnam, now second only to Brazil as the major coffee producer in the world. Large-scale production in Vietnam began following normalization of trade relations with the US in 1995. Nearly all of the coffee grown there is Robusta.
Coffee in the early days was always black and strong, and everyone drank it. As in today’s society caffeine still gives you that get up and go sensation and over time the consumption of the coffee beverage became refined as well as popular in every social gathering across the land. Through the evolution of time and the coffee we all drink every morning mostly by habit is considered Cafe 1.0. Its just plain coffee.
Enrichment is at the heart of what Café 2.0 is all about. “Enriched living” and by definition this means adding greater value, restoring elements lost or depleted, and increasing desirable qualities to your life and you’re living…
Café 2.0 is about you, making you feel better, it’s about people coming together, and it’s about people and sharing, it’s more than just a plain old cup of coffee. Coffee brings sociability to new heights and awareness. It’s a personal enrichment that touches every aspect of your life.
Café 2.0 is a lifestyle concept, as you well know the coffee that comes in little cup size sachets is a delicious gourmet coffee, enriched with over 100 antioxidants, and 200 plus vita nutrients as well as great taste and affordability, Its the perfect combination for our present day lifestyles.
Energize, re-vitalize, socialize, improving your self well being thru something you do everyday. Enriching and changing your life while enjoying something you love, coming together for health and wealth. That’s Cafe2.0.
Millstone Coffee Pods

Image : http://www.flickr.com
Though the name itself is not all that well known, Millstone Coffee Pods are rapidly making a name for themselves. Considering all the options, you have to figure any popular coffee pod has some sort of merit. Pods are not cheap, though, so learning about a brand before throwing money at a retailer is always a good idea. Let’s examine Millstone Pods, and see if they’re likely to be what you’re looking for.
What Company Produces Millstone Coffee Pods?
Millstone started out as a small company in 1981 in Everett, Washington. It’s rather ironic that the Millstone label has been applied to single serve pods since the original company was built around selling whole coffee beans to grocery stores. The company was purchased in 1996 by Proctor and Gamble, though the original owner of the company kept some of the assets back in Everett, using them to start Cascade Coffee Company. In 2008, Proctor and Gamble created The Folgers Coffee Company, using both the Folgers and Millstone names. That same “independent” company merged with The J.M. Smucker Company later that year.
Millstone Pods And My Brewer
Millstone pods should work with no issues in almost all pod coffee makers on the market. As they use the Home Cafe moniker, they can be considered a generic pod, which means they’ll fit all but the oddest coffee pod machine. Lots of folks use Millstone pods with K-Cups machines with adapters as well. As with any pods, you’ll get better results if you massage the grinds a bit and wet the pod before putting it in the machine.
What One Can Expect From Millstone
Though the Millstone name has seen more than its share of owners, they each seem to have made a real effort at keeping quality part of the brand. Even now, The J.M Smucker Company seems intent on Millstone being the gourmet coffee pods of their various lines. Although you may pay a bit more, you can generally expect Millstone pods to provide an unusually rich and full taste. Many reviews pit them against Senseo coffee pods, since they fit in the Senseo machines, and Millstone is seen as the superior brand. Options include over 30 various flavors, decaf pods included. Millstone currently does not produce ESE pods, meaning you will need to look at other brands if you want to make espresso in a pod coffee maker.
Obtaining Millstone Pods
It is widely reported that Millstone pods are not always available at small grocery stores or grocery departments at other retail stores. This is likely because The J.M. Smucker Company figures that, in areas where high end coffees are unlikely to sell, the Millstone brand will just compete with Folgers, which they also own. Luckily, however, Millstone coffee pods can be purchased from many online retailers and, being a widely distributed product, pods ship pretty easily with very little drama.
K Cup Rack, Carousel and Other Accessories For Your Keurig Coffee Maker

Image : http://www.flickr.com
When you own a Keurig coffee maker, you’ve made an investment into having quick, easy and delicious coffee on hand all of the time. Surely you’ve already been enjoying all of the benefits, however you can get even more satisfaction from your Keurig coffee maker by purchasing accessories like a K cup rack or K cup carousel.
Having a K cup carousel around the house or office can really make your life nice and easy. Instead of spending five minutes sorting through boxes and trying to find the flavor that you want, you can quickly spin around your K cup rack and see everything that is available.
All of the models use a spinning lazy-Susan style base to make browsing as easy as possible. Plus, they all display the pods with their labels up, so you’ll always know what you’re looking at and will be able to pick out whatever your favorite is.
The capacity for the average K cup carousel is also nice and high. Most hold about 30 pods at once, which means you won’t have to constantly re-stock them, and you’ll be able to display many different flavors. This is particularly useful when it’s being used in an office kitchen, or when you’re supplying coffee to clients in a lobby or waiting area.
Not to mention that when you buy a K cup rack you don’t have to worry about them taking up too much space or being an eyesore. They come in many different styles and designs, all of which can blend in excellently with various kitchen themes and designs.
For example, you can find metallic or chrome options, or you can find a sleek silver or black K cup carousel. Whatever your style or decor is, you’ll be able to find a match. Therefore there isn’t really any reason not to get one, and you’ll love the convenience that they provide.
If you’re a creative or hands on person, you can also looking into buying gadgets that will help you make your own coffee pods. Then you can use any coffee you want, and make them to the strength of your choosing. Not many people do this, but who knows… if you do it well there could be a potential side business in your future!
There are other accessories that you can purchase for your Keurig coffee maker as well, and you could always consider purchasing bulk coffee pods as well so you can stock up on all of your favorites. Still, the accessories that are the most popular and enjoyed are the K cup rack and K cup carousel.

Single Serve Coffee – Keurig K Cups Or Bosch Tassimo T Discs

Image : http://www.flickr.com
I was thinking about how coffee manufacturers are now producing individual servings of coffee in those little sealed plastic containers, and it brought to mind Carnac the Magnificent. Remember? Johnny Carson and Ed MacMahon did that schtick on the Tonight show where Johnny was Carnac and he would put the envelop to his head and guess the answer. Every time they did it, they mentioned that the envelopes were “hermetically” sealed.
Anyway, that’s what I think of when I look at the K cups or T discs. You can’t see what’s in them because they are hermetically sealed. The coffee is put into the container shortly after the roasting and grinding take place. Those coffee grounds never see the light of day, nor are they affected by the changes in atmosphere. That’s what helps them to maintain a consistently great taste.
Both K cups and T discs are similar in packaging and disbursement via the brewing process. A little protrusion pokes through the top seal from above, introducing the filtered water, and another spike creates a hole from below to allow the brewed coffee to exit into the waiting coffee mug.
Which is better? As far as the machine is concerned, the Keurig Single Serve Coffee Brewer has gotten slightly better reviews because it is made a bit more substantially than the Bosch Tassimo Single Serve machine. However, it depends where you look for users’ assessments of the final brew as to which one is actually better. Because it stands to reason that what goes into your mouth is what you will evaluate.
One thing to consider is that for the Bosch Tassimo you can find specialty brews like Latte, Cappuccino and Espresso, while the Keurig brand does not offer these. So if you want a home brewed Latte, choose T dics. If you just want a good cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, they both offer mostly the same brands of individual servings. Carnac says, “Choose either one for a heavenly coffee drinking experience.”
