Silent Night

Based on Psalm 98, Watts wrote the lyrics and Lowell Mason wrote the melody in 1839. Musical artists have recorded this many times, including The Supremes in 1965 for the “Merry Christmas” album. Other artists include Andy Williams on his 1974 “Christmas Present” album, Mariah Carey on her 1994 “Merry Christmas”, and in 1996 Whitney Houston for the movie The Preacher’s Wife:Original Soundtrack Album.

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing

This third carol lyrics truly reflect the theme of Christmas. “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” is known for first appearing in “Hymns and Sacred Poems” in 1739 and for being known as one of the Great Four Anglican Hymns in 1872 edition of “The Church Hymn Book”. The lyrics were written by English Methodist movement leader Charles Wesley with his brother John Wesley writing the melody. Throughout the years, music entertainers across several musical genres have shared their recordings of this song including Andy Williams, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, and Johnny Cash. Other recording artists include Amy Grant, Mahalia Jackson, Mariah Carey, Jewel, and Carrie Underwood.

I Loved (My) Los Angeles

It was 1984, I was 21 and I knew everything.

Cuddin’s, I was working for Prince who, at that time, was still an up-and-coming major recording star. I’d already traveled to New York, and now I was staying in Los Angeles. When I first arrived in L.A., I vividly remember driving on Santa Monica Boulevard. I was 220 pounds of muscle and bravado, I had a lot of money in my pocket and I was behind the wheel of a brand new, red Porsche 944 Turbo-and George Burns pulled up at the light next to me, in a Cadillac Seville. I know my kids will be asking, “Who’s George Burns?” But back then, George was the embodiment of California celebrity, and I knew my parents would be thrilled to hear that I saw him, sort of up-close and personal. I was blown away.

I was in L.A. because “Purple Rain” was scheduled to premiere there. The city was abuzz with excitement. I remember Donna Mills flirted outrageously with my good buddy Bob Brooks at the afterparty. Beautiful cars, beautiful people, money, money, money. And always warm. It was obvious to me, a world-wise young man of 21, that L.A. was the greatest place on earth. Paradise. Prince once said to me “Why is it that people don’t like Minnesota?” I had to laugh. His experience of Minnesota was pretty much May to October-the best six months out of the year. Come zero-below wind-chill, monster snowfalls and black ice, he is lodged in the land of palm trees and string-bikinis! Of course he loved Minnesota! There’s no place like it… in the summertime.

Prince’s entire entourage stayed at the Westwood Marquis. In preparation for the “Purple Rain” premiere, the hotel was filled with celebrities who had arrived to attend what was promising to be the hottest ticket in town. In fact, before the screening, I recall stepping out of my room into the hallway and seeing Peabo Bryson. Now, of course, I did a double-take because I hadn’t expected to see him. He apparently feared I was a crazy fan or would be asking for his autograph or something, and promptly dropped his eyes and actually tried to cover his face! It struck me as funny-so I told Prince about it. Well, wouldn’t you know it, later that same day I was on the elevator with Prince on the way back to his room, and Mr. Bryson steps onto the elevator. He looked at me and realized I was with Prince…and Prince promptly averted his eyes and tried to cover his face. After we exited the elevator, Prince gave me his notorious devilish little smirk. I still laugh about that!

Mann’s Chinese Theatre (the famous Grauman’s Chinese, built in 1927) was hosting the premiere and, in preparation, had decked the place out with purple accents, including a “Purple carpet”. I remember Peewee Herman rode up in a go-cart. Stevie Nicks, Eddie Murphy, Little Richard, John Cougar, Lionel Richie and a host of other celebrities walked the Purple carpet, eagerly anticipating the screening. Warner Bros. had a custom Purple Limousine deliver Prince to the theatre and when he disembarked, looking his glam-rock-funk best, the crowd went absolutely CRAZY. That whole night, and the weeks surrounding that time were assuredly the most exciting and interesting of my young life as a bodyguard.

When we had time to ourselves, Brown Mark and I would hang out and enjoy the city. We’d go to Larry Parker’s, a hoppin’ Beverly Hills 50′s style diner famous for Haagen-Dazs milkshakes and telephones in the booths. One night we spotted two fine Stella’s sitting at a booth across the way. There was one small problem-they had dates. Mark, I called him Roger, worked it out to have our mutual friend Lance call from an outside line to the phone in their booth-so these two guys wouldn’t see us on the phone hitting on their girls. The ploy worked and the phone in their booth rang.

The look on the girls’ faces was priceless. One would have thought the phone was possessed the way one girl tentatively picked it up and said, “H-hello?” So Lance is telling the girls on the phone that “the two guys across the way are interested, and you two should drop the guys you’re with.” The girls laughed out loud, and then one of them came over, and gave us points for originality…but they declined the invitation to join us. Come the end of the night, we’re getting ready to leave. We were each driving Ferrari 308′s, Rog’s was purple, mine was red. These girls saw us, saw the cars, and promptly ditched their guys. Clearly, they thought we both must be “somebody” and therefore worthy now of their attention. They actually asked “Hey, who are you guys?” “Prince’s bass-player and Prince’s bodyguard.” The looks on their faces as we peeled out-leaving them standing in the parking lot-was priceless…again!

So there I was, five years later, living the life in L.A. I would drive through the mountains toward Ventura when I wanted to get away and have some quiet time. Prince had me fill, wash and drive around in his 1989 custom teal blue, first-off-the-line BMW. I’d crank C&C Music Factory until the tinted windows shook. Life was beautiful and perfect. L.A. was just like I’d seen on television. I discovered however, that all is not as you see on TV. My first clue was when I searched in vain on Sunset Boulevard for the famous “77 Sunset Strip” address. It doesn’t exist in real life.

I remember the day I drove Prince’s car to visit some cousins who were living in Compton. It was my first time there. I was so pleased and proud to be rolling up in that blue B-Mer. My cousins saw me pull up into the driveway in that car and said they thought I must be out of my “flippin’” mind…I was in the heart of “Blood” territory driving a blue car. What had once been a nice neighborhood had been over-run with gangs. I was lucky I wasn’t shot at. They said that because of the dark windows, gang bangers couldn’t tell how many people were rollin’ with me, or that I might be some famous person.

I was shocked to learn that in this peaceful, normal, respectful-looking neighborhood, with all those palm trees, that regular nice folks, including children, were victims of random shootings. A lot of tragedy had befallen this neighborhood, as well as Watts and Inglewood. This was the Los Angeles a lot of residents were experiencing. It was not glamorous. It was not perfect. THIS was real life. This was the L.A. that belonged to the residents. I was only a lucky visitor. I had a lot to learn about life.

After-all, I was only 21.

"Enjoy Every Sandwich" – The Life and Times of Warren Zevon

Warren William Zevon, perhaps best known for his hit song “Werewolves of London” was one of the victims of mesothelioma. And he never really knew how he acquired this asbestos-related disease.

Zevon was an American rock singer, songwriter, and musician who had a sardonic sense of humor. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 2, 1947.

For a brief time after his family moved to Fresno, California he occasionally visited the home of Igor Stravinsky where he studied modern classical music. After his parents divorced he dropped out of high school and moved to NYC to become a folk singer. He was sixteen years old at the time.

One of his early compositions, “He Quit Me,” became part of the soundtrack for “Midnight Cowboy,” a 1969 film starring Dustin Hoffman, Jon Voight, and Sylvia Miles.. His first solo album, “Wanted Dead or Alive”, was cut in 1969. However it didn’t sell very well.

The 1970s were a bit tough on Zevon. Although he regularly toured with the Everly Brothers and recorded a second album, “Leaf in the Wind”, he felt his career was going nowhere. His pockets were getting empty so he packed up and moved to Spain in 1975. While there he played in a small tavern near Barcelona that was owned by a former mercenary, David Lindell.

It was there that the two composed Zevon’s classic song, “Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner.”

By September of the same year Zevon was back in LA, where he became a roommate of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham, before Fleetwood Mac became a household name. Collaborating with Jackson Browne, Zevon made his major record company debut – “Warren Zevon” – in 1976.

Although the album initially saw only modestly success, the first edition of “The Rolling Stone Record Guide” later called it a masterpiece.

Then, in 1978, Zevon released “Excitable Boy”. The album contained what would become a hit single – “Werewolves of London.”

The title song was about the murderous prom night of a young sociopath. You’ll also find “Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner” and “Lawyers, Guns and Money” on that album.

Several albums followed over the next few years but none of them attained any significant commercial success.

Zevon was in and out of marriages and relationships through the 1980s. In 1984, after reading a column in Rolling Stone he found out that his record company ended their relationship. He then relapsed into alcoholism. Shortly thereafter he voluntarily checked himself into a rehab clinic.

Out of the record business for a number of years, he finally overcame his addictions.

From 1982 through 2001 Zevon filled in as the bandleader on “Late Night with David Letterman” and then the “Late Show with David Letterman.”

In 1987 Zevon was back recording music.

But it wasn’t until the 2000 release of “Life’ll Kill Ya” that Zevon finally bounced back with an album that had reasonable sales and great critical acclaim.

Other parts of life were soon to catch up with him. You see, Warren Zevon seldom went for medical assessments because of his lifelong phobia of doctors.

In 2002, shortly before he was about to perform at the Edmonton Folk Music Festival, he began to feel dizzy and developed a chronic cough.

Still, he refused to be treated for the pain he suffered. Finally his dentist convinced him to see a doctor.

Zevon was diagnosed with inoperable mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is an asbestos related disease. Zevon had no idea how he contracted it.

He refused to be treated because he believed that it could incapacitate him.

Instead, he began to record his last album, “The Wind.” The album includes guest appearances by many of his close friends, such as Jackson Browne, Don Henley, David Lindley, Emmylou Harris, Tom Petty, Timothy B. Schmit, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Bob Thornton, and Dwight Yoakam.

He decided to include “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door” on the album, much to the dismay of the other singers. It is said that when he recorded the song the studio was brought to tears.

Then, on October 30, 2002, Zevon made his final appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman.” He was the show’s only guest that night.

As his introduction the band played one of his songs, “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead.”

While on the show Zevon said, “I may have made a tactical error in not going to a physician for 20 years.”

When Letterman asked him if he knew more about life and death now, Zevon gave his insight on dying. He said, “Enjoy every sandwich.”

He thanked Letterman for his help over the years and called him “the best friend my music’s ever had.” Letterman requested the last song of the evening.

For his final public performance, Warren Zevon sang “Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner.”

After the show ended Zevon gave Letterman the guitar that he always played on his show. The only thing he said about it was, “Here, I want you to have this, take good care of it.”

His last album, “The Wind”, was released in June 2003 and reached number 16 on the US charts. It had the most sales of any of his albums since “Excitable Boy.”

On September 7, 2003, Warren Zevon died from mesothelioma in his home in Los Angeles, California.

All About New York City Bars

OK, let’s establish some ground rules. It’s called the City, not Manhattan. And under no circumstance should you ever say New York City. Yes, we know some New Yorkers do take things a bit too far and say they are from the City even when they are visiting relatives in Tulsa – where the nickname really loses its luster.

Whatever it is you are trying to do while you’re in the City, do it quickly and get out of the way. That applies to ordering at the deli (where do you think the Soup Nazi idea came from?), riding the escalators, crossing the street or buying a paper. Things have a faster pace up here and people like it that way. This City will eat you alive if you don’t prepare properly.

But even with all of the millions of people scurrying around, you can still blend into the madness and fit right in. That’s because everyone is too busy to notice you as they race to the subways, run to catch the ferries, or fight for a cab. New York has a “kick you in the teeth” attitude that can make you feel satisfied when you actually accomplish something. And, you know you earned it because you’ve just navigated thru all the madness. Here’s a local tip so don’t sound like a tourist when you are downtown- it’s pronounced “How-Stin” even though it is spelled like Houston. SoHo means south of Houston – now go figure out NoHo on your own.

Immerse yourself in the City, with all it has to offer, and you’ll understand why it’s like no other place on earth. The diversity, the energy, the attitude – you can find anything and everything in the City that never (EVER) sleeps. There’s always a new neighborhood to explore, another restaurant to try, another club to dance at, and another bar to drink in.

Dreams have been realized here since the first settlers and you can feel that same spirit as you walk the streets of each neighborhood. Where else can you see millionaires mingling seamlessly with the working class? From munching on their morning bagels to singing along with Frank Sinatra at the end of the Yankees game, New Yorkers share the local pride. Maybe it’s because everyone has one thing in common – they’ve all lived in that 300 square foot studio apartment and paid $2000 a month for it. And why does everyone say their address like it’s the most regal location in the known universe?

Maritime Hotel: Yes, we are listing a hotel as a pick for our Nightlife category and it’s not because of what goes on behind closed hotel room doors. The entire city block is just one big open air extravaganza right out of South Beach. White Horse Tavern: A super-popular West Village institution, White Horse Tavern is quiet, literary, and features lots of wood – a former haunt of Dylan Thomas. Good for a few laid-back Happy Hour pints with old friends and colleagues. Just make sure you’re not watching your waste line if you decide to order grub – the big juicy burgers and slab-cut fries are worth the calories! White Horse Tavern is located on Hudson & 11th Street.

Bungalow 8: With so many luxuries offered at this honeymoon-suite locale, who has anytime for sleep? If you’re looking for great drinks and interesting snacks, this mini-resort provides it. A hospitality-themed lounge, Bungalow 8 offers everything but the mint on your pillow. Perfect for night-owls who have trouble turning in. Bungalow 8 is located at 515 W. 27th St. (between 10th & 11th Aves.).

Gypsy Tea: Despite the name, there’s no Stevie Nicks vibe here. But what you will find is a two-level hip-hop destination where you’ll often see sections full of A-listers from the fashion and celebrity world. With four unique lounge settings (and over 10,000 square feet) of banquette-like seating, cushy pillars, a grand aquarium and room to dance, most flock to Gypsy Tea for its VIP section and bottle service. Tortilla Flats: There’s a party every night at this small Tex-Mex joint. Great for food and margaritas (try the strawberry one – you can get them by the pitchers), Tortilla Flats is a cheap and fun cantina that’s always crowded with post-work folks looking for a good time. Its located on Washington Street & 12th.

Trailer Park Lounge: Located at 23rd Street (between 7th & 8th Avenues) this place is an ode to an old trailer park – screen door, unmatched vinyl chairs, velvet pictures of Elvis, Marilyn and more. This is the place to be if you want good comfort food (try the sweet potato fries, tator tots and mac n’ cheese) and big potent drinks (the margaritas are the size of your head!) after a hellish day with the boss. With its kitschy decor, Trailer Park is a great place – sans pretension or attitude.

Dive 75: A dimly lit watering hole with four TV’s, 19 beers on tap, a free Wi-Fi connection, a 155-gallon fish tank, board games up the kazoo (Uno, Monopoly, Connect Four) and friendly waiters that make you feel like home – who needs anything else? Dive 75 (located at 101 W. 75th St. – between Columbus and Amsterdam Aves.) is no dive at all!.

BLVD: If you want a lounge, a dance-floor and food under one roof – this is the place that delivers all three (and with class). Located on Bowery (at Spring Street) BLVD is a mega one-stop shop that you can check out for a pre-dinner drink or to spend the entire evening. Great for a first date and when you’re not sure where the night is going to take you (no need for an “emergency phone call from a friend”) – its easy to get lost in the crowd in this tri-level complex.

b.e.d. N.Y.: Manhattan, we’d like you guys to meet South Beach. Beautiful people, beautiful space – this bi-level penthouse located at W. 27th Street, is the city’s first downtown restaurant that offers two dining floors, a 360-degree rooftop view of the midtown skyline and beds for dining, drinking, and just chillin. The beds invite everyone to be a wee bit more “free spirited.” Whoever said you can’t dress up to go to bed?

Sutton Place: This laid back, yet hip bar is your multi-option destination. Whether you’re meeting your BF for some late night drinks or just watching the big game, Sutton Place is where it’s at. The venue features 15 televisions with four large-screen projectors, a separate lounge with a fireplace and a 46 foot rooftop retreat. Sutton Place is located at 1015 2nd Ave. (between 53rd and 54th Sts.).

230 Fifth: Planning an after-work soiree with your colleagues or a weekend nightcap with your new guy? The Tangled Relationships of Fleetwood Mac

Mixing relationships and business together can either be a disaster or lead to success. With Fleetwood Mac, although the breakups of band members John and Christine McVie as well as Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks created chaos, it lead to the creation of the hit album Rumours with hit singles “Go Your Own Way”, “Dreams”, “Don’t’ Stop” and “You Make Loving Fun.” Rumours sold over 19 million copies in the U.S. alone and 40 million copies worldwide.

Fleetwood Mac saw many changes before this success. The band was formed in 1967 in London by Peter Green. He was joined by Mick Fleetwood and John McVie. At the time the band was called Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac, which played blues rock. In the 1970s the band topped charts with Green’s “Black Magic Woman”, which Santana later picked up and made popular. But the band, with Green, never realized worldwide notoriety. Green then began struggling with his abuse of LSD and suffered from schizophrenia and later he quit the band in 1970.

Just after Green left, Christine Perfect McVie joined the group, not long after marrying Fleetwood Mac band member John McVie. Christine was perfect for the band as she had been a long time fan of Fleetwood Mac and knew all of Green’s lyrics, allowing her to pick up where he left off. With a music background, once performing with the group Chicken Shack, fitting in with the group was an easy fit.

With the group’s reformation, they decided to move to the United States and try their hand with American audiences. In 1972 they released the album Bare Trees. Meanwhile the band struggled with band members coming and going, it wasn’t until a scouting tour in Van Nuys, California that Mic Fleetwood discovered the band Buckingham Nicks, made up of Lindsey Buckingham and Stephanie “Stevie” Nicks.” Fleetwood asked Buckingham to join, Buckingham agreed if his musical partner and girlfriend could also be a part of the band. And the rest is history.

In 1975 the new mix of band members released the album “Fleetwood Mac”. Hit songs included “Over My Head”, “Say You Love Me”, “Rhiannon” and “Landslide.” The album sold over 5 million copies.

The following year, relationships began to crumble. Fleetwood was in the middle of a divorce from his wife Jenny, John and Christine’s marriage came to an end and Buckingham and Nick’s romance fell apart. Other songs that came from the Rumours album that achieved great success was “Second Hand News”, “Gold Dust Woman” and “The Chain.”

After the group’s success, the band went back to the drawing board searching for a new sound. The result was the 20 track double album Tusk released in 1979. The song “Tusk” reached #8 on U.S. charts and featured the USC Trojan Marching Band. “Think About Me”, and “Sara” were also successful.

In 1982 the band released the album Mirage. It included hits “Gypsy” and “Oh Diane.” Mirage received a double platinum status in the United States. Touring the United States, Stevie Nicks‘ popularity grew and grew. With her popularity came pressure and it wasn’t long before she was admitted to the Betty Ford Clinic for addiction problems. John McView was also suffering from addiction-related problems. While there were rumors the band was breaking up, the later released Tango In The Night along with their Greatest Hits album in 1988. Tango in the Night included hits “Big Love”, “Little Lies”, and “Everywhere”.

The band came back to the forefront of the music scene when asked by U.S. President Bill Clinton to perform at his first Inaugural Ball in 1993 performing his campaign theme song “Don’t Stop.”

The band, minus Christine McVie toured in 1984, opening for Crosby, Stills and Nash. In 1998, Fleetwood Mac (Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer and Danny Kirwan) were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and performed at the Grammy Awards program that year. They were also the recipients of the “Outstanding Contribution to Music” award at the BRIT Awards (British Phonographic Industry Awards) the same year.

Despite the tangled relationships the group had throughout the years, success continued to follow them and the band is still highly recognized.

The Wonderful Music of the Band Fleetwood Mac

Fleetwood Mac is a band of both British and American musicians and singers that was formed in 1967. They continued well after 1974, and in fact, they are still together, but it is believed that the first seven years were their best years. The current members of Fleetwood Mac consist of Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood.

The name of the band was created from the names of John and Mick, though, only Mick Fleetwood has been with the band from the time it began until now. In fact, John McVie, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham may have been with the band for a long time, but they were not in the band when it was first created. The band is probably best known for its revolving door, in that there has been a high turnover of the other people involved in the band.

When Fleetwood Mac was first created in 1967, it consisted of Mick Fleetwood, who was interested from the start, Peter Green, who brought up the idea of putting the band together, Jeremy Spencer and Bob Brunning. Peter Green had wanted John McVie in the band from the start and had partly named the band after him in order to win him over, but he had other interests at the time. However, Peter Green was not going to give up. He brought in Bob Brunning, but he and Bob Brunning had the understanding that if Peter Green was able to get John McVie into the band, Bob Brunning would have to leave.

It was not until after Fleetwood Mac’s debut that John McVie became interested and agreed to join the band. Their first album together was released the year after, in 1968, which was not long before they released their second album in the same year. Before their third album, the band added in one more member, because Peter Green was not happy with Jeremy Spencer’s lack of interest in cooperation with his music.

This was the start of the high turnover of the members of the band that would continue for a number of years. Even Peter Green, who was the one who formed the band, was unable to continue with the band throughout its long life. Apparently, he had been spiked with LSD, which led to the deterioration of his mental health.

For a time, it was believed that Fleetwood Mac was the most popular band in the United Kingdom. They were never a controversial band like The Doors, and were more focused in their music. They mostly focus on three music genres, including blues rock, pop rock and basic rock. These particular genres were popular at the time the band first formed and are still genres that are enjoyed by young and old alike today. They have been so successful, that Fleetwood Mac was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, but it would not mark the end of the band. The band would continue to play and tour, even with the retirement of another member shortly after the induction.

Guitar Scale Modes – The Lydian Mode

The Lydian Mode is the fourth mode of the major scale and the second major mode of the major scale. Although similar in construction to the Ionian (Major) Scale, the Lydian scale has a sort of other-worldly or “dreamy” sound.

Construction

The Lydian Mode is built upon the fourth note in the major scale. The pattern of whole and half steps in the Lydian Modal Scale is as follows:

If you follow this pattern, you will create a scale which begins on the 4th note of the major scale and has the same key signature as the major scale.

EXAMPLES

F Lydian — F G A B C D E F (the same key signature as C Major)

G Lydian — G A B C# D E F# G (the same key signature as D Major)

***NOTE: There are 2 ways to think about the construction of the Lydian Scale:

1. Begin with the major scale of the same name and sharp the 4th note. For example, D Dorian would be the D Major Scale with a sharped 4th. (D E F# G# A B C# D)

2. Begin with the 4th note of the “tonic” major scale and write a scale that has the same key signature as the tonic. Example–the A Lydian scale–write a scale that begins and ends on A with the key signature of E. (A B C# D# E F# G# A).

Using the Lydian Scale Mode

The Lydian scale us usually played over Major 7, Major 9 and #11 and Major 13th chords. It is also played with a IV – V chord progression. The sharped 4th, when the chord is extended, yields a sharp 11th. This gives the Lydian scale a unique harmonic sense of momentum. Some players and writers enjoy its “emotion evoking”capabilities and use it often. Other players find the # 11th feeling a little too unsettling or active,

You will hear extensive use of the Lydian mode in the instrumental guitar-rock style of players such as Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. It is also a favorite of songwriters like Stevie Nicks and Joni Mitchell.

Fleetwood Mac – Tango In The Night – Rock Music CD Review

The exceptionally talented Rock group Fleetwood Mac have released their CD entitled Tango In The Night. I am very confident and happy to announce that I believe Fleetwood Mac fans, and Rock fans alike will be pleased with this one. With the release of Tango In The Night their artistic excellence is on full display as they have once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be their best work to date.

It’s a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I’m more than happy to announce that’s exactly what I must say about this one. There simply is NOT a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all.

Tango In The Night is a pleasantly varied, mix of 12 tracks that are very well written and brilliantly performed songs by these clearly gifted musicians. With many of the songs displaying a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Seemingly drawing from what I can only imagine are their own real life experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions of love, heartbreak, pain, failed relationships and unattainable romance. They’re all here.

Listen to and I think you’ll agree that the song choices are excellent, the production is outstanding and Fleetwood Mac is clearly a group that is in top form.

While the entire album is really very good some of my favorites are track 5 – Tango In The Night, track 11 – When I See You Again, and track 12 – You And I, Part II

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 – Big Love. Good stuff!
