Paying your property taxes is one of the must-do's for those who own a home. You can not get out of it, you can not put it off if you want to keep your house, and then you should be able to pay for it. The property taxes come due each year, so you must come with options. This article will examine how to reduce your property tax payments, and give you an understanding of property taxes in general. Property taxes on a number of home is not difficult to determine if you know where to find the information you need to make the calculation. First you need to know the assessed value of your home after the county / city where you live. The home's value is only assessed every year, so you would normally go by the latest appraisal value. Once you have your home assessed value, you next have to determine the property tax rate, called the millage rate. If you live in Hagerstown, MD, you have a separate county property tax due each year, and a city property tax. You would get the price of each of these, and then multiply the rate times assessed value. This will give you the annual property tax on your home. You can call the city and / or county tax office to find out millage rates for your area. Here are some ways to lower your property taxes: 1 Get a property tax credit. You may be able to get a property tax credit for certain things like being a senior. Contact your local tax office to find out whether you can qualify for any of these credits, which will save you money by saving you on your taxes.2. Itemize deductions on your federal income taxes. If you itemize your deductions, you get a property tax deduction for the amount you paid in property taxes during the tax year. This will reduce the total amount you pay in property taxes overall.3. Find out if there was an error in your property assessment value. Error is very possible. For example, the value of your home has increased disproportionately when appraiser put in that you have three bedrooms instead of two, or that your square footage of your home is 2500 square feet instead of 1,500 square meters. You want to look at the details of the assessment to find out this information.4. If you feel your property has declined in value, bring a complaint. Generally, you have sixty days to file a complaint after the annual assessment is mailed to you each year. In the complaint, you would have to prove that the value of your home was valued too high. Find similar homes in your community and see what their values are. Otherwise you have to find another way to prove your case. An error may be the reason for overestimated value.5. If you do not appeal, you can send anything in court to fight the assessed value of your home. You can hope that the levy the Board wants to liquidate, so make an offer to you of a lesser value, so they can save money in lawyer fees.6. Have your home assessed by an independent company and then offer this to the tax authority board to show that the value has fallen. You can ask them to reassess home values based on this information. Maybe they'll even come back out and reassess the value itself. 7th View the local tax office that the value of homes in your area have declined significantly since the last time the home was assessed. If your area only assesses the home once every five years, could be your home's value has fallen 20-50% since then. The tax office may be willing to work with you to reassess the value of your home. If they will not come to your home, take pictures to show them. 8th See things that are wrong with your home. Chances are, the tax assessor does not see the inside of your home or garage, when decisions about the value of your home. Invite them to come over and look inside, and they will see that the basement is not finished. Or will they see that your roof is leaking, or that you need new flooring in half of the rooms in the house. This could reduce the assessed value. If you can not lower your property taxes directly, you can still reduce costs and spread out payments: 9 Spread payments. You can get a monthly payment plan to help afford the costs. That way you will not have to pay the amount up front all at once.10. To reduce the cost of property taxes, the government could cap the amount property taxes can increase each year. If it can only increase 3%, you pay less than if it may increase 5%. You can write your local congressman and take measures to help these laws will be adopted in your area. To eliminate unnecessary burdens on your property taxes, you''ll want to pay on time to avoid late fees for starters. So make sure there were no errors in your property assessment value. Overall, if you want to lower your property taxes, first speak with your local tax office. Show them the value of homes in your area have declined and that the assessed value of your home is no longer valid. Show them proof that your home is not in as good a condition as they thought, with image documentation. If you do not get results, offer to have the home re-evaluate your own calculation. Then finally refer the complaint, followed by taking the case to court. You can help Congress take action to reduce property costs by adopting legislation that places a cap property taxes can increase each year on a given property. Make a payment plan and pay the payments on time. Get tax deduction on your income tax by clearly indicating the deductions.Your last line of defense to reduce property taxes is to see if you qualify for a tax credit. You can do this through your state government by filling out an application to see if you meet the economic requirements for a tax credit as a financial problems.

Crocodile Tears on Wall Streetaf Bill Moyer and Michael WinshipMed all due respect, we can only wish them Tea Party activists gathered in Washington and other cities this week were not so single-minded about who is responsible for all their troubles, real and imagined . They are up in arms, so to speak against Big Government, especially Obama administration.Hvis they thought this through, they would be joining forces with other grassroots Americans who in the coming weeks will demonstrate in Washington and other cities against the High Finance, taking on Wall Street and the country's largest banker.Den original Tea Party, remember, was not directed only against the British Redcoats. Colonial patriots also took aim at the East India Company. It was limited company company originally founded by the first Queen Elizabeth. Over the years, given the government their special rights and privileges which the owners turned into a monopoly on trade, including te.Det may seem a bit of a stretch from tea to credit default swaps, but the principle remains the same: When the huge private wealth goes unchecked, get regular people hurt – badly. That is what happened in 2008 when monied interests led us up the garden path to the big sammenbrud.Så Tea Party crowd should be demanding accountability from Bank of America, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Wells Fargo, and dozens of hedge funds and private equity firms, which constitute what we loosely call the Wall Street.Men are the perpetrators to take responsibility for damaging the lives of millions of ordinary Americans? Do not kid yourself. If you have been to see them appear before Congressional committees and the financial crisis Inquiry Commission – the independent investigation that is supposed to find out what really happened – you've undoubtedly been to reach Pepto-Bismol.Her is Robert Rubin, former Treasury Secretary and director of Citigroup, testified last week. "Almost all of us involved in the financial system, including financial firms, regulators, rating agencies, analysts and commentators missed the powerful combination of forces at work and the serious possibility of a massive crisis," he said. "We all bear responsibility for not recognizing this and I deeply regret it." Okay, maybe you do not have a crystal ball. But what about good old-fashioned business acumen? How could you make so much money and not know the score? "You talk about a degree of accuracy, no board will ever have," Rubin claimed. Citi paid you $ 120,000,000 as a senior advisor and Rainmaker and you are responsible for knowing what is happening beneath you? You did not bother to evaluate the risks you were peddling to customers? Committee heard a similar excuse from Chuck Prince, which served as CEO of Citigroup during his meltdown: "Let me start by saying I am sorry. I am sorry that the financial crisis has had such a devastating effect on our country … And I am sorry that our management team, starting with me, like so many others could not see the unprecedented market collapse that lay ahead. "Commission Chairman Phil Angelides, former state treasurer of California, was not buying it. "The two of you in charge of this organization appears to have no control over what happened," he said, and Rubin, "I do not think you can have it in two ways: they were either dragging the handles or asleep at the switch. "Nevertheless, financiers moan, it was all a huge accident, once in a century accident, an act of God. But of course it is not true. Lots of people saw it coming and made a bundle that takes away with the spoils at the expense of the millions who lost their jobs, homes and savings. There is no longer any doubt that many bankers continued to play the system after the collapse – still pay exorbitant salaries and bonuses while hitting ordinary people with usurious same day paycheck loans, credit cards and other fees – and refuses to help small and medium sized enterprises that could create beskæftigelse. The Tea Party gang really should have fallen with those Senate hearings this week to look at the failure of Washington Mutual, the bank that went belly up in meltdown in September 2008 – the largest f. eg failure in U.S. historie.Som a 18-month Senate investigation revealed that WaMu made subprime loans that its leaders knew was rotten, so packaged them as mortgage securities and pawned them off on unsuspecting investors. Loan officers were paid by the number of mortgages they sold, and ran up the tracks by lying to customers and falsification of data so that they could make bigger bucks and win trips to Maui and the Caribbean. At a Washington Mutual office in Montebello, California, 83 percent of the housing loans contained false oplysninger.Så is Lehman Brothers. Their accident, except for some harassment only now come to light, was small enough to fail. During the Black September day two years ago, the Feds were sacrificed and let it go flying to the USA's biggest bankruptcy ever. In an admirable job in journalism this week, reported The New York Times that Lehman secretly controlled a company called Hudson Castle. Critics say it was used by Lehman to borrow money and to hide bad investments in commercial properties and subprimelån.Men week's price for sheer gall yesterday to a Chicago-area hedge fund called Magnetar, named after a kind of neutron star that spews deadly radiation in entire galaxies. Thanks to the teamwork of investigative reporting site ProPublica and public radio's Planet Money Project and "This American Life," we learned that Magnetar worked with Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, Merrill Lynch and other investment banks to create toxic CDOs – secured debt – securities backed by subprime mortgages that management knew was bad. So Magnetar took that knowledge and action on that same investment, they had recommended to buyers, selling short and making a formue.Blot call all this "creative accounting" is to make it an injustice. This is corruption, cynicism and greed on a scale that would make the Roman emperor Caligula creep. Or rather, the Emperor Nero. He has not only poison the citizens of Rome, legend says that he burned the place down, tinker around in the ashes like our Wall Street tycoons.Men since we know all this, why is it so hard to hold Wall Street accountable? Which brings us to what the Tea Party and people have been complaints about this week. The banking sector and corporate America is fighting against the proposed financial reform with all the money and influence at their disposal to try to preserve a system that enables them to loot the country again . Look at Eric Lichtblau report this week, also in The New York Times, entitled: "Legislators Regulate Banks, then flock to them." The financial sector has hired more than 125 former members of Congress and congressional staff from both parties to help them fight off ansvarlighed.Ikke wonder that this headline appeared in the Times this week: "GOP Considers Measure on Plans to Curb Finance Industry". It is not surprising. Earlier this year Republican politicians told Wall Street: Give us the bottom and we will scrap reform.Den GOP's SWAT team – also known as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce – has already spent three million U.S. dollars to try to kill or maim a key part of reform – the proposed new Financial Protection Agency. With the Department as their front companies have bankrolled ads that make it seem as if the Red Army is on our dørtrin.Fortalere for reform has countered with ads of their own, but the Democrats are deeply in hock to Wall Street, too. Remember Magnetar hedge fund that bet against his own products? The owners cover their bets with ample campaign contributions to Rahm Emanuel. Yep, the same – President Obama's White House chief of staff. At that time he was an Illinois congressman and chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, which collected millions of dollars from the financial tjenesteydelser.Faktisk site Politico.com reports that "the nation's ten richest hedge fund managers have dumped nearly one million U.S. dollars in the campaign as measured over the past several years … Consumer advocates and critics from other financial sectors say hedge funds would get quite easily "under the Senate reform regningen.Bundlinjen:" The Wall Street banks are the new American oligarchy – a group that wins the political power because of its economic power and then uses that political power to his advantage. "Then write Simon Johnson, former chief economist at the International Monetary Fund, the Fund and James Kwak, a former management consultant and software entrepreneur, in their important new book, 13 Bankers: The Wall Street Takeover and the next financial nedsmeltning.Deres word warning and the past year and half make you aware that, as usual, had Thomas Jefferson, whose birthday we celebrate this week it right. Back in 1816, he wrote: "I sincerely believe … that banking institutions are more dangerous than standing armies. photo: Kelly Sims "Stop throwing your money away on rent." You see the phrase in Real junk mail and hear from new homebuyers who are immersed in the nightmare of paperwork, the points of pudsning.Logikken is simple: hire is just rinse money down the toilet, buy a house gives you a piece of something to call your own. You earn home equity and end up with something concrete to pass down to your heirs or sell or refinance when you go on pension.Der is a kernel of truth to all this. But it is most crap. I've been a tenant all my adult life and I have lots of home equity. My home equity is called "cash" and it is the accumulated difference between what I pay in rent and what a similar homeowner pays for their mortgage, upkeep, property taxes and utilities. (Sure, Ipay all these things indirectly, but this is the point: they are rolled into my rent and they are not rolled into your mortgage.) Unlike a homeowner, I can choose to invest my share in something other than real estate. I can use my equity without taking out a line of credit. I can squander my own, but I will never be "underwater" because of the whims of the market. And I gather home equity faster than the average boligejer.Ja, thirty years from now when your mortgage is paid off, you own a home free and clear. You know what I want to own? Enough money to pay cash for your hjem.Sure, I make a big assumption: I assume the value of your house will not increase much faster than inflation (or at least not much faster than the performance of my investments). Harvard professor Ed Glaeser, writing in The New York Times's Economix blog, believes this is an excellent assumption: Houses are assets, too, but it is a mistake to expect to offer a regular increase in the price. Houses pay hefty dividends to their shareholders in the form of living space, this is the real return on investment in housing and basic economics of housing not point to eternal prisstigningen.Faktisk Case-Shiller index, the most respected measure of house prices shows that they hardly have outpaced inflation since 1890.Jeg is also assumed that I have discipline to keep saving the money. So far so good. Homebuying is often praised as a "compulsory savings scheme." I think it's true: it is a system that forces you to invest a large portion of your money in real estate. How is this better than simply increasing your 401 (k) contributions? Two kinds lejereVi is not so different, Joe Homeowner and me. I rent a property from a landlord. He rents money from a bank.Hver month I write my landlord a check. The money spent on orthodontia for the owner's children, and I will never see it igen.Hver months, Joe writes his banker a check. The interest portion of the payment-by Joe, it is well over half of the payment, more than I spend on renting a comparable home will be spent on polishing the bank's yacht, and Joe will never see it igen. For this analogy, I am indebted to David Crook of The Wall Street Journal, who wrote a seminal 2007 column on the topic: Mortgage interest rent you pay to your lender for use of his money instead of a landlord for use of his house … most of your monthly payment is not based equity is not tax deductible. It just goes down the same black hole that sucks up other tenants' money. And it takes 20 years before a typical borrower pays more principal each month than interesse.Åh, but what about the mortgage interest deduction? It's not for Joe. It is my own and Joe's banker. Only half of homeowners take it-the rest are better off with the standard deduction and the average tax savings for those $ 2,000, according to Roger Lowenstein of the New York Times. (The big winners in the mortgage interest deduction game are homeowners who make over $ 250,000 a year, but not so much that they can afford to buy a home with cash.) Trapped in the closet Home ownership has long been said, leads to financial and community stability. The last three years should have taught everyone that "own" (ie funding) a shelter is no protection against financial uro.Med terms of community stability, be careful what you wish. If you lose your job, the worst place to find yourself trapped in an underwater house. I could move with two weeks notice and get my security deposit tilbage.Det is not just anecdote. As Tim Harford reported in Slate: English economist Andrew Oswald has shown that in European countries and across U.S. states, high housing is correlated with high unemployment …. Renting your home and staying flexible do wonders for your chances of always finding an interesting job to gøre.Hvad for a high degree of their own house to create community, I'm not sure how you would measure it. All I know is that my family lives in one of the safest and most desirable census tracts in Seattle, as in the 2000 census, it consisted of 85% lejere.Hvorfor buy? I say no one should buy a house? Of course not. There are plenty of situations where you want to do it: * You live in a place where the total monthly cost of renting equivalent to borrowing. This is true in a lot of non-residential bubbly places outside the big cities and coasts. In that case, sure why not? * You really want to be able to renovate. Yes, it takes ownership. But beware: the cost of renovation is almost never recouped when a house is sold. Also people talk about the ability to adapt as if it would be important to everyone. I just do not care to get my hands dirty .* This kind of house you want in the neighborhood you want is not available for rental. (This is unlikely to be the case in the current market situation, however) .* There is a special house you want, and you can afford to buy it with a big payout and a boring 15 – or 30-year fixed-rate realkreditlån.Bare because a house is not a good investment, in most cases does not mean you should not buy one. A steak is not a good investment either. The problem is that houses cost more than steaks and a lot of people are convinced that everyone should own one if they can afford it or not. If you can not afford to purchase real estate, or just do not like, do not. It's okay. You are still a voksen.Mig? There is not anything I want to get out of my economic, social or family life that require me to own real estate. So I leje.-Hungry Monkey out now: http://hungrymonkeybook.com/

Journalists Should donate to Anti-Choice organization to Cover Palin's TaleI day will Sarah Palin speak at a fundraiser for the Austin-based Heroic Media, a "faith-based" anti-choice organization that aims to reduce the number of abortions " ; by creating a culture of life through television, billboards and internet advertising. "As part of its anti-choice media strategy, airs Heroic Media TV commercials, to" encourage viewers to learn more about and rethink life issues. "Group's Internet strategy seeks to direct Google users to an anti-choice website: Heroic Media uses an online strategy to buy top listings on search engines like google, so when teenagers" google "the word" abortion "… "I think I'm pregnant," … or "terminate the pregnancy," one of the top sites they will see is our partner website http://www.teenbreaks.comTeenbreaks.com contains information about abortion, communicate with parents, adoption, cutting and very mere.Som Indecision Forever notes that Teenbreaks.com provide "information" about "cutting" is a giveaway that it is not interested in providing women with the best facts about their reproductive rights: "Cutting it right, because even – mutilation has everything to do with treating an unplanned pregnancy. "But to cover Palin's speech, Austin-American Statesman reports that journalists have to make a contribution to Heroic Media: Limitations: Heroic Media will try to ban video and audio recordings of Palin's appearance and news organizations who want to cover her speech must buy a ticket, the proceeds of which will go to Heroic Media. At deny media access has been Palin's standard procedure. After the debacle that was her interview with CBS 'Katie Couric during the 2008 presidential campaign did Palin, that she would not enter into any embarrassing interviews – often demanding that journalists submit their questions "premature" to ensure a one-on – a. And as a private citizen, the former Alaska governor, any questions at her lecture in advance screened. Just last week at an event in Eugene, OR, the media was "not … allowed to ask her questions and take still images … videotape or record it anyway. "Earlier in the year after conservatives criticized Palin's $ 100,000 + fee to speak at the Tea Party convention, she said she would donate the proceeds to" cause. "Perhaps it is what she was trying to get the media to do so as well. waking up in my San Francisco hotel room yesterday, I immediately knew something was wrong. It was something rod.Faktisk was throughout the hotel's breakfast. Blankets un-vacuumed, brassware unpolished, rooms unserviced, newspapers delivered. It was a story in a broad sense across the entire city – leaves piled up knee-deep on the sidewalk, restaurant tables uncleared and water glass un-refilled. It was as if all essential – but secular – the service had stopped, immediately and without advarsel.Kun when I reached the Civic Center, I realized what was going on: all Mexicans were gathered there protesting Arizona's new Senate bill, SB1070. " ; Stop! "I cried," stop the nonsense! Put your bilingual protest signs and your American flag and get back to work! "My hotel room was not to purify themselves, and I was hungry for enchiladas. But Mexicans ignored me – maybe because I do not speak a word Spanish or perhaps because they could not hear me over the chanting, but probably because I'm white. Racister.Faktisk this week, the issue of racism is on everybody's lips. First Arizona turned the concept of innocent until proven otherwise on the head, becoming a law to force people who look Mexican to carry documentation proving that they are not in the U.S. illegally or face six months imprisonment. (British readers may be forgiven for feeling a sense of déjà vu.) Interval across the Atlantic, we Brits have our own race-related scandal, when Prime Minister Gordon Brown was caught on a live microphone to call 66-year-old voters, Gillian Duffy "hypocritical" after she harangued him about the number of Polish immigrants "flooding" to Storbritannien.Til his eternal shame, apologized Mr Brown vigorously for his comments the next day, claiming he had misunderstood Mrs. Duffy words, despite Like many older white voters, her accusing polish immigrants for many of the UK's problems are clearly a form of chauvinism (the Poles are Britain's equivalent Mexicans in the U.S., except the Poles are allowed to immigrate to Britain freely and without a visa). I would say I am shocked, Arizona's new law, or by an old white lady who lives in northern England is afraid of foreigners – but of course I am not. Arizona is a state with a growing population of white people over retirement age, and study after study has shown this group to be the most likely to hold anti-immigrant, or even out-and-out racist views. But, I am heartened – and I mean in no way heartless – these people are literally a dying demographically. Growing up in their place is a generation who, thanks to the Internet are exposed daily to people of different races, colors and trosbekendelser.Takket be the many social networks, which recognizes no national or social boundaries, it is now as easy make friends with someone in Africa as it is to connect with a person in Arkansas. At Munich's DLD conference two years ago, spoke Randi Zuckerberg inspiring about how Facebook was young collectors from both sides of the Israeli / Palestinian conflict through their common membership in Facebook groups. Just last week, Slate cited a paper from the University of Chicago, which showed that people who get their news from online sources are more likely to have a balanced news diet (ideologically) than those who get their news online now. As an avid Internet user, the study argues that, I'm likely to visit both the New York Times and Fox News to get a balanced picture of events than one based on a single avis.Den trend, according to proponents of Internet Diversity is clear: The Internet makes us less afraid of people with different ideologies, backgrounds and skin colors to our own. And this is obviously a good thing. In just one generation, which was adopted in Arizona and opinions, laws like the so expressed to Prime Minister Brown in Rochdale will hear the past, and thanks to social media, we will all live together in perfect harmony. Ebony and Ivory, etc etc etc. In fact, as far as I can see, there's only one problem with the vision of Christmas yet to come … The total horseshit.Lad us start with the Chicago study. Provisional results paint a positive picture of online diversity: the numbers clearly show that online news 'consumers' visit an ideologically balanced range of sources each day, especially in relation to their offline counterparts. But what the study does not and can not show why they visit these kilder.Et quick look at my browser history shows that in the last 24 hours I have visited BBC News Online, the New York Times and The Guardian. Liberal news organizations all. But at the same time, I also checked in the Murdoch-owned Sun, the Drudge Report and even Fox News (several times). According to the survey, so I see an open-minded person with a balanced news diet. But of course, I nothing of the sort. In fact, my reasons to visit FoxNews.com the same as for most of my cheese-eating, US-hating, Osama-hugging, liberal socialist friends – I check in on the enemy, hoping to find something scandalous that hill up my already existing bias against the American right. And before anyone Proud Hannity-waving Patriots are reading this get too upset that confession, admit it: you're visiting the Guardian and The New York Times exactly the same if the polar opposite, årsager.Sandheden is if we are not careful, the Internet will make us more, not less, remote from people who do not share our views or heritage. In the real world – at work, in bars or just walking down the street – it's almost impossible to avoid interacting with people different from ourselves. Of course some people still try to avoid the inevitability – think apartheid in South Africa, or the recent story of a British tourist who insisted that a hotel in Florida with all "colored people" (or those with "foreign accents") away from him and his family. But fortunately in 2010, believes most people examples to be (in the former case) reason for regime change, or (as with the latter), bizarre front nyheder.Og however in the online world such filtering and sorting happens every day without be the least bit remarkable. Just think of the news that – according to a survey conducted by Edison Research (reported by Business Insider) – "black people represent 25% of Twitter users, roughly twice their share of the population in general". As a white person this number surprised me a bit – and if you're white, I bet it surprised you. Twitter feels like one of the whitest places in the world for me, full as it is with even solemn middle class hipster children retweeting New York Times stories and the fact that they are having sushi for frokost.På Facebook or other social networks, which better reflects my real world relationships, I see a far more representative number of non-white faces in my buddy lists and on the pages of friends-of-friends, while Twitter – in contrast – is hideously white. In fact the only time I see a high concentration of faces that are different from my own is when I venture into the strange world of Trending Topics, and specifically hashtag memes. There, I can guarantee that at least one of the daily Trending memes will have been started by (most) African American teenagers, exchange # jokes on topics such as # and # funeralrules iWantMyMoneyBack (both grabbed from Twitter's home page right now). Like the confused 30-year-old white person I am, I use a few minutes to browse jokes, get confused and romp back to the safety of my own feed and its talk of trendy Japanese food and how horrible racist Arizona er.Uden real significance I have created my own little bubble of Twitter People Like Me: racially, politically, linguistically and socially. And each day via the Internet a new tool or service is launched, making it easier for people to do exactly the same: to filter large amounts of information available online after their personal beliefs or interests. Hashtags, follower lists, RSS feeds, personalized news sites – all the better to surround ourselves with people and views as ourselves and our egne.Der are two basic types of dystopian future: the 1984 and future Brave New World future. In 1984 the future of the government forcing us to think and act in a certain way, drive undesirable in ghettos and threaten physical harm those who think or act differently. In Brave New World future (or maybe Neil Postman future), the government not doing anything to strengthen our behavior. Instead, we get the tools to do what we want to create an illusion of total freedom that no matches or questions until its too late and we understand that we have lost the ability to critically tænkning.Hvis apartheid or the new laws in Arizona representing the 1984 future, then there is a real possibility that the Internet – and social media specifically – will eventually lead us into an even more horrific Brave New World future. A future where the tools that once promised to help us to meet people with different backgrounds and ideologies of our own actually end up being used, even inadvertently, to separate ourselves from the same mennesker.Og given the increasing influence , online behavior, how we act in the real world, perhaps a generation from now – rather than laughing at Arizona's long passed SB1070 and years-dead concept of racial or ideological segregation – we will find ourselves sitting in our electronically filtered and hashtag- segregated ghettos, looks back at the good old days. The days back in 2010 when it was only the very old or very stupid thought that finding ways to filter and separate us from those who are different was a good idea.

Philips UK Online shop by cs905s

Because online stores are less inclined to encourage users to "window shop" for new products, Apple is trying to do Web shopping experience less "sterile and isolating" and encourage consumers to spend more money.

The new patent application from Apple unveiled this week, titled "Better Online Shopping Atmosphere," notes that while online stores have some advantages over physical stores, such as search capabilities and is available 24 / 7, also have a number disadvantages. Besides being a smaller environment than a brick-and-mortar location, customers are less likely to "dwell" while looking at a product and therefore could spend less money than one who shops in a physical store.

Apple aims to enhance the experience by adding a social element to an online marketplace. This could be done by tracking what part of the store and what specific products other clients are in. This information could be transported to a shopper by displaying a human-shaped icon that represents what is popular on the site at the particular moment time.

The system could offer up real-time statistics that provide customers with information such as how many people viewed an item that particular day or how many nearby shoppers are currently looking at this product. Users can also track nationwide and global statistics to see what customers in specific countries or bought.

The application describes a shopper, "Alice", as seen on productivity software in an online store. By hovering the mouse over her product is Alice presented with the number of people currently looking at software and the percentage of people throughout the site with this product in their shopping cart.

Alice's personal history could also be traced, showing products that consumers with similar viewing interests, or recommend keywords based on her viewing and buying habits, compared to other customers.

Trees. We love 'em. We know Apple likes them, just take a look at its plans for a Palo Alto store, which makes indoor trees as a new prototype for its retail outlets. We wonder if this prototype is part of the plans for the new London retail store on the most prestigious tourist magnets, Covent Garden, where work on the latest business continues apace …." Every square inch of Apple's forthcoming Covent Garden (London) store has been replaced, repaired, restored or cleaned to prepare it for the millions of visitors who will join later this year and say, "Wow!" writes IFO Apple Store's Gary Allen for World of Apple. The shop has a central courtyard (see picture above captured during an art exhibition), we wonder if this will keep the trees? The building dates to 1877 and was designed and built by William Cubitt. Allen describes the $ 30,000,000 investment in the place and the enormous historical faithful reconstruction Apple put in place over the last 18-month construction. "The red brick and gray stone facade of the building has been completely gutted," the report says expects high stone arches, massive doors and large windows with little Apple logos signify the importance of place. Oh, and gas lights were restored.Inside you get the much beloved Apple staircase and split-level of the larger stores. In the courtyard "A large and extensive iron gate fills an archway, while others are either bricked-over or lead to other rooms in the building." This will be a huge store, with a number of office buildings on top are some of the overspill from Hanover Street , no doubt. There is also a large basement. It's been ten months since we first heard about the V-Vehicle Co. and its possible plans to start building a high-mpg sized vehicle at the end of 2010 or beginning of 2011. Given the lack of information from the V Vehicle since then and the fact that it did not have a $ 321,100,000 DOE loan, things seem to be rather stand at the San Diego-based company wanted to build a production facility in Louisiana . But maybe things are not as dead as they look. According to local Louisiana media, "V-Vehicle gave test rides on what the company calls a game-changing car to a limited circle of government officials and media", including Gov. Bobby Jindal. Unfortunately, no pictures allowed, but if giving us more information about the car, there is apparently still in a sort spor.VVC continue the hunt for financing, for example. It already has $ 90,000,000 in private funding and is looking for 100 million dollars more. The company will also apply for a new DOE borrow money, told VVC interim CEO Ray Lane local news outlet 2 The Advocate, adding that "We can pay it back without problems." VVC promises to release details about a retail development plan next month or to.Med account of the car, says VVC it would be "very affordable" and we've heard it would get around 40 mpg. A reporter who saw the car, a hatchback, and told Green Car reports it looks like a cross between a Volkswagen Golf and a Dodge Neon. VVC says the car is about as long as a Toyota Corolla and as wide as a BMW 5-serie.Kroppen would use white composite panels (think Th! Nk) for which Lane said: "There is no reason to use steel . Plastic is a perfect shell of a car. "What does a plastic outer you? 2 The Advocate writes, "VVC hope to turn vanilla look into a positive, with the ability to transfer licensed sports logos, abstract art and photos of pets and children on the empty slate color." These graphics can apparently be easily changed . Until the first production prototype (65 more planned) has 5,000 miles on it, so if anyone sees an unusual white car cruising the roads in Louisiana or around San Diego, you are welcome to snap us a picture.
