Some of the flat stomach exercises that you can do are the following:
Bicycle exercise. This is the best abdominal exercise that targets both rectus abdominis and the obliques.
Captain’s chair leg raise. Similar to the bicycle exercise, this one also targets the obliques and the rectus abdominis.
Exercise ball crunch. Here, you will need an exercise ball as a tool to strengthen the rectus abdominis muscle.
Vertical Leg Crunch.
Torso track.
Long arm crunch. Targets your upper abdominal muscle.
Reverse crunch.
Here are a couple of myths about stomach exercises:
Doing stomach exercises alone can reduce the size of your love handles. Just like other weight loss strategies, you also need to limit the amount of calories that you consume. It is never enough to just exercise without dieting.
One has to do a lot of crunches in order to have a flat stomach. This is not true because overuse of crunches can make your neck longer and cause you to have a bad posture. Any standing exercise will do but you also have to workout your lower back to strengthen the muscles supporting your lower spine.
One of the easiest flat stomach exercises to do is the “stomach vacuum” by sucking your gut in for ten to twenty seconds. This is one I like to do when standing in line waiting. Try these exercises along with a program for losing weight to reach your goal. Look for a plan that was designed by a certified trainer and has proven results.
