Guild Guitars Guild Guitars 381-0600-837 GAD-F40 Acoustic Grand Orchestra Guitar The Guild Company began its rise from a small Manhattan guitar workshop to one of the world’s premier makers of high-quality acoustic (and several popular electric) guitars. Registered in October 1952, the fledgling Guild Guitars Company set up a 1,500-square-foot manufacturing facility on the second floor of a factory at 536 Pearl St., not far from where Al Dronge’s Park Row music store used to be in the 1930s and ’40s. Sagman & Dronge opened at 130 Park Row in New York, near Silver & Horland and Harry Newcorn’s Music, also on Park Row. J&R Music Instruments has the distinction of being at 33 Park Row, near the birthplace of Guild Guitars.

A folk-size guitar worthy of representing over 50 years of fine guitar building by Guild Guitars!

The Guild GAD-30 was designed utilizing a body shape that is extremely popular among fingerpickers and singer-songwriters, providing great balance and an even tone. The GAD-30 has solid mahogany back and sides and a solid spruce top that features scalloped bracing, joined to the one piece mahogany neck with the traditional dovetail neck joint. The fingerboard and bridge are crafted from Indian Rosewood.

The pearl dot inlayed bridge and strap pins are made from ebony, and Guild has added wood bindings, and Grover Sta-Tite tuning gears. For the best in tone and intonation, the GAD-30 features a bone nut and bone compensated saddle. The finishing touch — classic pearl fingerboard inlays and a deluxe wooden arched case.
