This item is made in China. Therefore, it has a lifetime expentancy of exactly one year, if it is used sparingly: Some stupid thing will stop working, in this case, the only moving part, which is the “on” switch. (On my previous heater, it was also the on switch, which was NOT a moving part).
I bought this item to save money and energy: I can heat up one room in my house while the rest stays fairly cool. But if every year (and it has been every year) one has to replace these heaters, and send to the landfill an otherwise perfectly good but unfixable appliance (and they are unfixable, I checked), we’re not saving any planet here. Also, I’m certain that I did not save enough energy using this heater to justify its cost before it died.
Stay away from any items with an “on” switch made in China, is my advice (which might mean we have to go back to wood fire heaters). Otherwise, just buy a heater and expect to throw it away at the end of the season.

I had high hopes for this unit. The theory behind it seems good, touting minimal wasted heat, compact size, yadda yadda yadda.
My first unit lasted about a month and half, after which is would shut itself off for no good reason. I sent it back, and with the long delays in response by the manufacturer, the replacement unit arrived in the Springtime. Oh well, at least I’d be in a good position next Autumn.
When the cold weather set in, I started using it, and guess what? Same thing happened. I’m tempted to just send it back to them, in hopes they can use the raw materials to make something that really works.
Save your money and buy some blankets. This thing is a waste of time.

This heater works really well for heating our living room. We found out it is running our electric bill up sky high. It was supposed to be “energy efficient” and lower you heating bills. Well, it has done just the opposite for us. I would not recommend this heater if you are worried about your electric bill.
