After years of holding America a virtual hostage, old-fashioned radical feminism

appears to be just about dead.

But don’t take my word for it. No less a feminist authority than Maureen Dowd, the

New York Times columnist who has never met a Bush–or Bush policy–that she’s

actually liked, has all but written feminism’s obituary in her book, Are Men

Necessary? Dowd notes that feminism “lasted for a nanosecond, but the backlash

has lasted forty years.”

I would take issue with that statement. Feminism has been thwarting America’s

growth and vitality for years–but, finally, a number of women are rejecting it for the

silliness it is. Dowd writes, “It’s the season of prim, stay-in-the-background First

Lady Laura Bush, not assertive two-for-the-price-of-one First Lady Hillary. Where

would you even lodge a feminist protest these days?”

The signs of the decay of feminism can be seen far beyond Pennsylvania Avenue. In

cities across the U.S., women are chucking the corporate world and embracing

Barney’s world instead. They have found fulfillment where their grandmothers did–

in the home, raising their children, offering love and support to their husbands.

Many do not consider domestic work a drudgery–rather, they see it as a comforting

alternative to the 24/7 career life.

But what has brought about this seismic shift in American life? Feminism may, in

fact, be responsible. Young women have seen the fallout from feminism and, as a

result, they want no part of it. Public opinion polls generally show that younger

women flinch at the thought of being called “feminists.” They may have been raised

in the broken homes spawned by the nation’s divorce culture, and they don’t want

their own children to suffer the fate that they did. In essence, they suffered parental

loss early in their lives because their mothers were rarely home long enough to be a

nurturing force. Instead of tugging on their mothers’ apron strings, they were left

to tug on the telephone cord that connected them to their working mothers’ offices.

They felt a distance from their mothers that no amount of therapy could adequately

address.

In one noteworthy case, a poll commissioned by Faye Wattleton, former head of the

pro-abortion Planned Parenthood, showed the generation gap which feminism

caused. Wattleton asked women whether keeping abortion legal was a major

concern, and they said “no.” Years of Planned Parenthood’s preaching about the

alleged necessity of abortion-on-demand have failed to convince the younger

generation, who realize that sisters, brothers, cousins, friends, and potential mates

are missing because they were aborted by their misguided mothers. Younger

women tend not to see abortion as a right–but rather as a profound wrong.

South Dakota’s recent decision to ban virtually all abortions demonstrates that

radical feminism’s clarion call to kill the unborn is no longer being heeded. The

U.S. Supreme Court–which has its share of pro-feminist holdovers–may still claim

that abortion should be the law of the land, but elected representatives in South

Dakota have proven that it doesn’t have to be. Recent national public opinion polls

also show quite clearly that Americans support legal abortion in only rare

circumstances–in fact, most people believe it should be banned in 99 percent of all

cases. Feminist icon Molly Yard, who was marching for abortion well into her

golden years, must be turning over in her grave.

Young women simply don’t relate to Eleanor Smeal, Gloria Steinem, and the other

“founding mothers” of the modern feminist movement. They see such women as

out-of-touch, angry, and unfulfilled. They admire women who can keep a

household together under trying circumstances. They may have iPods and

Blackberries, but they still believe in the value of hearth and home.

And they definitely believe that men are necessary.

If you possess multiple computers at home or at work, more likely you will want to share the internet connection between all the PC’s so that all the users can use the internet at the same time. For this purpose you can employ an ethernet splitter to construct a set of connections where all the PC’s can be linked to utilize the internet connection. So the network is simply all the computers linked by a communications device which allows communicating resources between all the users.

In order to make your own Ethernet splitters you will need some devices and tools such as two RJ45 Crimpable Plug, four RJ-45 keystone jack, a small Ethernet Cable Scrap approximately 2 feet in length and tools like a RJ45 Crimp Tool Craft knife, 110 Punch Down Mechanism, Loctite  Super Glue. initially you will need to crease the RJ45 Plug to the Ethernet cable. For this to be done you will need to read a configuration scheme taken from a hardware book or from the directions on the package.

Now use the 110 Punch Down Mechanism to press down the other end to the RJ-45 keystone jacks and use the other end of the cable and cut it to 9 inches and press down the four pairs with this wiring code, Jack #1: 1 White/Orange to pin 1keystone jack 2 Orange to pin 2 keystone jack 3 White/Green to pin 3 keystone jack 6 Green to pin 6 keystone jack #2: 4 Blue to pin 2 keystone jack 5 White/Blue to pin 1 keystone jack 7 White/Brown to pin.

Use the preceding instructions to make one more splitter so you eventually have two splitters. Plug one splitter to the RJ45 wall plate and plug the two PC’s to the splitter. Now connect the other splitter to the patch plate and plug two patch cables from the splitter to two free Ethernet cables from the switch. If your splitter connections are right then the two links from the knob on which the patch cable are joint should turn on. After this setup is complete, then you will be able to install two PC systems all at the same time connected using only one Ethernet cord. This method is similar to Power over Ethernet but instead of injecting DC, it is injecting another data. It is better if you can to draw one more Ethernet cord from the patch panel to the wall plate. Once you use these guidelines then you should create a successful Ethernet splitter, if not you will need to start over the procedure all over again.

Die Ewigkeit, die Du Dir wünschst – Box 1 Anfängliche Skepsis … – M. Petri –
Anfangs war ich wirklich skeptisch.[...]Zudem handelt es sich hier grob gesagt um eine Liebesgeschichte mitten aus dem Leben. Für jemanden wie mich, der eher die härteren Animes wie Elfen Lied, Gantz oder Tokko mag also nicht wirklich ein Anime den man kaufen muss.
ABER: Die Serie war jeden Cent wert. Noch jetzt bin ich hin und weg.
Über den Inhalt schreibe ich natürlich nichts. Doch die Art und Weise wie die Geschichte erzählt wird ist schlichtweg genial. Die Dialoge, die Handlung, die Charaktere und die Umsetzung sind meisterhaft. Von Beginn an war ich mitgerissen.
Ich kann diese beiden DVD Boxen und somit die komplette Serie jedem wärmstens empfehlen. Es ist eine Reise in eine Gefühlswelt, die jeder in seinem eigenen Leben sicherlich schon ähnlich kennengelernt hat. Die zeichnerische Qualität unterstreich den hohen Level dieses einzigartigen Animes.

Hübsches Liebesdrama aus Japans Anime-Schmiede – Hyperion –
Zuerst war ich sehr skeptisch, da diese Serie auf ein Dating-Game basiert. Das romantische Liebesdrama steht aber klar im Vordergrund, welches durch kürzere Comedy-Elemente gelegentlich aufgeheitert wird.
Wer rasch ins Heulen kommt, sollte sich vorher ordentlich mit Taschentücher bewaffnen, um nicht später knöcheltief im Wasser zu sitzen.

- Bild + Ton
Bild und Ton sind ordentlich. Es gibt zwar “nur” 2.0-Ton, aber aufgrund des Genres wäre Surround wohl wirklich mehr als überflüssig gewesen.

- Synchro (-1 Stern)
Hier muss ich einen Stern abziehen. Über die Wahl der Sprecher kann man sich streiten; aus meiner Sicht wurden die wichtigsten Personen recht gut besetzt (btw. finde ich einzelne Besetzungen im Original auch nicht optimal).
Viel mehr stört das Skript. Mehrere Namen werden falsch ausgesprochen und zwar so weit daneben, dass es selbst anime-unerfahrene Zuschauer merken. Auch wenn sich die Charakter ansprechen wirkt einiges sehr seltsam. Dies liegt daran, dass man keine jap. Suffixe (so wie man sich dort anspricht z.B. “Takayuki-san”) verwenden, aber nahe am Original bleiben und Duzen/Siezen belassen (jedoch dies auch nicht konsequent). Das Ergebnis ist eine hölzern wirkende Mischung. Vielleicht sollte man bei solchen “Beziehungsgeschichten” die Suffixe aus dem Original doch beibehalten, da alles andere eher Verwirrung stiftet.

- Untertitel
Die Untertitel sind recht gut. Die Schrift könnte noch ein ganz wenig grösser sein.

- Preis
Der Preis ist etwas – auch für Anime-Verhältnisse – im oberen Bereich. Höher sollte diese mit 7 Folgen wirklich nicht ausfallen.

- Sonstiges (-1 Punkt)
Ich rate dazu, die Folgen im Menu einzeln anzuwählen. Das Label hat in diesem Fall die DVD so eingestellt, dass Openining und Ending übersprungen wird, wenn man alle Folgen auf einmal abspielt. Dies verwirrt eher, da plötzlich die nächste Folge beginnt. Da muss ich einen Punkt abziehen, da ich diese Lösung nicht besonders gut finde (der Publisher ist aber offenbar – zum Glück – wieder von dieser Praxis weggekommen).
Der Start der Serie ist etwas langgezogen. Die eigentliche Serie fängt erst ab Folge 4 richtig an und die vorherigen Episoden ist eher eine Situationsaufnahme. Glücklicherweise wurden in den ersten Folgen jeweils ein Cliffhanger eingefügt, der zum Weiterschauen animiert. Trotzdem sollte man nicht verzweifeln, wenn die Story anfangs noch nicht richtig voran gehen will. Die späteren Folgen kompensieren dafür den Anfang bei Weitem. Vielleicht ist dies auch ein Grund dafür, dass die Serie nur in 2 Doppel-DVD-Boxen erhältlich ist (bei Anime-Serien sind Einzel-DVDs üblicher).

Fazit:
Wer romantische Liebesdramen liebt, hat hier einen Pflichtkauf, auch wenn man kein Anime-Fan ist. Denn von der Story schlägt dieser Titel viele real-verfilmte Liebesdramen locker.

Die Ewigkeit, die Du Dir wünschst” ist eine Anime-Serie, die auf einem sogenannten Dating Game” beruht. Diese Computersimulationen sind in Japan sehr beliebt. Die Person, deren Rolle man spielt, muss sich darin um Dates und Beziehungen bemühen.

Takayuki ist ein einfacher Junge, der sein Leben nicht zu weit im Voraus plant und vieles einfach auf sich zukommen lässt. Das bringt ihn immer wieder in Schwierigkeiten, denn er setzt sich nicht direkt mit der Situation auseinander, dass er zwischen zwei Menschen steht, die er mag, sondern lässt einen Tag auf den nächsten folgen und wartet ab, was passiert. Mitski ist eine starke Persönlichkeit. In der Schulzeit ist sie ein echter Draufgänger, hat ein freches Mundwerk und lässt sich nichts gefallen. Sie ist das genaue Gegenteil von Haruka, die sehr schüchtern ist und sich eher in sich zurückzieht. Wenn so verschiedene Charaktere in einer derart schwierigen Situation aufeinander treffen, sind Schwierigkeiten vorprogrammiert.

Leider wirkt die Handlung an vielen Stellen nur mäßig glaubwürdig. Natürlich legt es die Serie darauf an, auf die Tränendrüse zu drücken und die Gefühle der Zuschauer aufzuwühlen, dabei wird die Handlung aber stellenweise recht unglaubwürdig. Eine Krankenschwester, die den Besuch ihrer Patientin Geliebter” nennt, eine Ärztin, die auch im Behandlungszimmer ständig raucht, oder Haruka, die, nachdem sie aus dem Koma aufgewacht ist, nicht wahrnehmen soll, dass alle Menschen um sie herum drei Jahre gealtert sind, sind nur einige kleine Beispiele dafür. Der Kitschfaktor der Geschichte ist außerdem sehr hoch. Die Charaktere werden durch extrem konstruierte Geschehnisse in Situationen befördert, in denen sie sich dann zurechtfinden müssen. Es gibt viele Szenen, die gewollt romantisch oder pathetisch erscheinen. Außerdem grenzen die Dialoge stellenweise ans Lächerliche, da sie kaum Inhalt haben, oft wiederholt werden oder äußerst einfach gestrickt sind. Etwas verwirrend ist auch noch, dass zwischen der sechsten und siebten Folge eine Liveaufnahme des Titelsongs zu finden ist. Es wird nicht ganz klar, ob das Bonusmaterial ist oder tatsächlich von den Machern so vorgesehen war.

Äußerst gelungen ist die Aufmachung der Box. Sie ist wie ein Buch aufklappbar und enthält zusätzliche Informationen zu den Figuren. Außerdem wird das zugrunde liegende Spiel ausführlich erklärt. In dieser ersten Box befinden sich die ersten sieben Folgen, die zweite wird weitere sieben Episoden enthalten, die die Serie abschließen.

Fazit: Junge Mädchen, die eine gewollt romantische Geschichte voller Dramatik suchen, werden mit Die Ewigkeit, die Du Dir wünschst” sicherlich nichts falsch machen; wer eine tiefgreifende Handlung erwartet, wird aber nur zu einem kleinen Teil fündig werden.
